Six Flags and Cedar Fair to Merge (Nov 2023)

They are, but a 50% price hike hidden as a "Well you can go to 4 other parks too" just won't go over well, especially with the Cedar Fairs crowds who think the Six Flags parks are beneath them and they have no desire to travel to them. I have to think pass sales have to have been down (hence the all parks add on to renew early), so they have a tight balancing act. What is the price they could raise that it won't immediately turn those who have been on the fence?
The renew early with the all parks add-on was due to needing money. The other thing they are trying to figure out as well is getting passholders to spend more money in the parks. Its a big reason Haunt was an upcharge this season.

Kinda sad to see Schlitterbahn slip into the dead weight category. I remember back in the early 2000's it was ranked (via a Travel Channel top 10 special) as one of the best waterparks in the U.S.

Not sure if that was before or after SF took over.

Its the Schlitterbahn in Galveston that's being sold.

So how is WDWMagic feeling about this years later? 😂
I fully admit it went the opposite of how I expected it to go. I thought Cedar Fairs had the majority, they were going to rise Six Flags parks up to their level and then really take off. Turns out the former CEO was just a big fan of the way Six Flags ran things (or Cedar Fairs didn't have the power I expected they would).
