Didn't hear that the 3rd park is sooner than expected, but would welcome the news. Esp since AdventureWorld is now decent. Would also make sense why Avatar and StarWars rumors have gone away for AW and DLP.

The change to WDS needs to push both it and Parc Disneyland consistently above 10 million, Parc Disneyland preferably above 15 million to consider a third gate
Until WDS is doing at least DCA numbers it’ll be more advantageous to continue to expand WDS than adding a third gate

The agreement with the state is 22 million annual visitors as the trigger for the 3rd gate with 2036 being the deadline.
There are certainly some pathways towards that number but I struggle to see how that will be reached based on current attendance. The figures for 2026 and 2027 will give an indication of the trajectory the resort is on after the WDSP expansion opens.
Edit - 3% seems to be the magic number. If attendance growth is 3% each year between 2025 and 2036 22 million will be reached. I admit that doesn't sound like a lot but... it would be unprecedented growth for the resort.

Exciting times ahead to see how and if attendance will grow! I do hope so. I wish this resort the best of luck and hope these expansions will send the right signals back to the WDC. Might not agree with everything they've done, but it sure is making the resort much better than it was before. The lake area looks beautiful and set up for greatness in the future.
A lot of my friends and family, who don't really normally visit, are very hyped for Frozen. Bit scared how they'll react to just one small land around the lake though. Might take it as offense, might get excited for Lion King and plan a return trip. We'll see!

Well this is huge. Looks as official as every other piece of concept art Disney has shared, and given the Atlas stamp on it, it definitely looks like a legitimate leak.
So China's own Epcot? Will they be doing a World Showcase, and if so which countries will make it? or they will just have more generic lands themed to different continents and pick the IP that fit that continent.
The white structure on the far right look like some icy mountain. I hope really not another Frozen world again - we have too many of those already, HK is so near. Something similar to Expedition everest or the Matterhorn would be wonderful.

I took a screenshot of the Tweet which was deleted just after a few minutes. Has anyone ever heard of SouthernSky113 or Forever Love and knows if they are reliable sources? I tend to think of RiverDai as pretty trustworthy as he posts a lot of high quality stuff about SDL, but I've never heard of his two sources here
Very interesting as it was rumored years ago the idea for gate 2 was a EPCOT inspired park but less worlds fair and more showcasing different parts of the world via nature architecture and stories. kinda like a EPCOT AK hybrid

Which honestly is the ideal path forward in a world of everything IP.
If this works as I think it might it’ll be IPCOT on steroids. Just minus the future bit.

Here we go. They re doing it to us again. Tokyo got Disney Sea instead of us and now Shanghai will get IPcot instead of us. Oh well, we still have Disneyland.

Haha I’d love to. Not really in the cards right now but i did tell my cousin who flies to Shanghai often for work to let me know next time. Wouldn’t spend my precious limited resources for a family trip to Shanghai but if the timing is right I’d fly out there solo to meet my cousin for 4 days* including a couple days at Shanghai DL. It’s the only way I’ll knock out a trip like that if it’s going to happen in the foreseeable future.
Would be wild if Shanghai Disneyland of all places ended up being my third Disney park. That can’t be many people’s order. Haha
* or wait isn’t there that 3 day rule and you can only stop there on the way to another country?
EDIT: Update: just texted my cousin. Looks like he’s not going until next March which gives me some time to plan. Who knows Marni, you may have gotten the ball rolling for my first foreign Disney park. You happened to make this comment during a time where I am absolutely desperate to do something outside of the norm. Like if I don’t I might just wither away. As long as POTC isn’t closed in March looks like it could be a Go. Ideally Pan and Tron would be open too.

My order is also unhinged.
Tokyo was my second Disney resort, Universal Singapore was my second of their gates, Universal Hollywood was my last (before Beijing) and if you think that must mean Osaka was my first gate of theirs… still no.
It’s probably forever unique because no one is splitting the Orlando Universal gates with Singapore and Osaka/Hollywood.
