pretty much exactly how I feel, especially the last sentence. From what we’ve seen of the plans, Piston Peak will look very nice. Like the idea of a national park atmosphere. Would actually be awesome to do this without IP at all.
But if going to use Cars, then use Cars. Focus on the characters from the original movie. Seems like another SW:GE type miss to highlight new or fringe characters.
God, that's so depressing.
It's but another story, on the great big beautiful Carousel of Progress.

This is a really out there question and I realize it’s not likely for a variety of reasons….
But IF Josh didn’t like the Piston Peak / Cars idea for Frontierland is it too late to change?
Like is it just site work so far that could allow the entire project to change? Or is it too far along to do that?
That’s a huge if - but I can’t help but wonder.
I think they made their peace with sunsetting TSI and RoA. Trying to stick another IP seems even more problematic. If he genuinely thought it wasn’t good for the long term success of the park it would.
I also realize it’s a longgggggg shot to hope for a change. But just curious if any of the work done would be to the point that it would be difficult to change course.
Just looking at - it seems they are just clearly land and prepping for construction so far - but I don’t have any knowledge of how that actually works
Feel like even as a joke it’s pretty disingenuous to compare these two but then again who are we but disingenuously making one liner arguments
Nah, it seems entirely fair given WDW’s decision to destroy the second most important organizing and aesthetic element in the park.Feel like even as a joke it’s pretty disingenuous to compare these two but then again who are we but disingenuously making one liner arguments
Cry me a river to replace this one I guess thenNah, it seems entirely fair given WDW’s decision to destroy the second most important organizing and aesthetic element in the park.
What is the implication here? That one is a completed area and beautiful and one is a massive construction zone and is not beautiful?
The implication is uhhh change is bad and YOU should hate it too, or something? (That's my favorite Rafikki quote)What is the implication here? That one is a completed area and beautiful and one is a massive construction zone and is not beautiful?
Is there not a chance that, when completed, these two new areas could be just as, or even exceed, the beauty of that area in Disneyland Paris?
Oooo. The implication is uhhh change is bad and YOU should hate it too, or something? (That's my favorite Rafikki quote)
Literally just did that joke like 3 comments agoOooo.
Cry me a river.
Just thought it would be good to point out because literally don’t make sense in this context? Like I’m happy for these changes, glad ROA is gone tbh. Excited fr cars
Of course you are.Just thought it would be good to point out because literally don’t make sense in this context? Like I’m happy for these changes, glad ROA is gone tbh. Excited fr cars
No. There is no chance of that, because the entire area was designed - narratively, aesthetically, spatially - around the RoA. You can’t just replace that organizing element, let alone replace it with an Autopia rip-off based on the direct-to-video offshoot of Pixar’s worst franchise, and expect the area not to suffer immensely. You can’t just draw a picture of Elvis in the middle of the Last Supper and not destroy the composition, even if it’s a really cool picture of Elvis. What is the implication here?
