Disney has announced Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is set to reopen on April 8, 2026.

Here's a first look inside:

This looks absolutely phenomenal. A great blend of the original elements and new audio, technology, and effects. I cannot wait for April 8.
Was going to say the same. I’m a huge lifelong fan of this ride and have been super nervous for this redo. Absolutely love what I see so far. A smart update that keeps things really fresh while keeping the original ride’s spirit and bones completely intact

Yes it appears to be an improvement. Have to admit the old red laser system didn’t really work for me, especially when compared to the experience at Toy Story Mania.

Granted I can understand being skeptical but nothing they announced previously alluded it to being a downgraded experience whatsoever.

Everything was “pushing” what was already there and even adding new elements.
I think based on what we had been shown originally that, objectively, it was going to be an update. Better vehicles, better blasters, a new scene, etc. But we all know that the atmosphere, mood, or feeling a ride gives you is a subjective, intangible aspect that we really value. I think his point was that they managed to upgrade everything without changing that intangible aspect. That's how I feel at least based on what we now have seen.

Personally, I thought the ride was garbage compared to Disneyland…. so I was looking forward to the updates.

Completely nailed the point I was making better than I could’ve.

I’ve ridden this thing hundreds of times and was worried we’d lose the spirit of it - that intangible feeling a ride gives you (which, for this ride in my case, evokes some of my favorite memories of riding this with my younger brother). I literally flew to Florida to ride the OG before it closed (and I was the last guest on it). That feeling means a lot

Looking at that new video they posted on social media again, it definitely seems like they are reusing Zurg's voice lines from Astro Blasters in Disneyland. Other than that, it sounds like Mike McRae maybe is the one voicing Buzz in the ride. He's the new sound alike and has voiced Buzz in things like Kingdom Heats 3 and Kinect Disneyland Adventures.
