Buddy only replaces the disco ball scene with the green aliens iirc?Question, I tend to mix up all different version of buzz across the parks, but wasn't there a Zurg AA in the ride? Has that been replaced with Buddy? I read in the release we'll see Zurg for the first time in the tunnel now.
Are we expecting AP previews?
I'll be there on reopening day ^^Disney has announced Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is set to reopen on April 8, 2026.
Here's a first look inside:

Was going to say the same. I’m a huge lifelong fan of this ride and have been super nervous for this redo. Absolutely love what I see so far. A smart update that keeps things really fresh while keeping the original ride’s spirit and bones completely intactThis looks absolutely phenomenal. A great blend of the original elements and new audio, technology, and effects. I cannot wait for April 8.
We’ll be there in 9-days…. I’d love a DVC or AP preview…..Are we expecting AP previews?
Yes it appears to be an improvement. Have to admit the old red laser system didn’t really work for me, especially when compared to the experience at Toy Story Mania. Was going to say the same. Granted I can understand being skeptical but nothing they announced previously alluded it to being a downgraded experience whatsoever.have been super nervous for this redo.
I think based on what we had been shown originally that, objectively, it was going to be an update. Better vehicles, better blasters, a new scene, etc. But we all know that the atmosphere, mood, or feeling a ride gives you is a subjective, intangible aspect that we really value. I think his point was that they managed to upgrade everything without changing that intangible aspect. That's how I feel at least based on what we now have seen.Granted I can understand being skeptical but nothing they announced previously alluded it to being a downgraded experience whatsoever.
Everything was “pushing” what was already there and even adding new elements.
Personally, I thought the ride was garbage compared to Disneyland…. so I was looking forward to the updates.I think based on what we had been shown originally that, objectively, it was going to be an update. Completely nailed the point I was making better than I could’ve.I think based on what we had been shown originally that, objectively, it was going to be an update. 14 minutes for first dark cloud observation.I’m looking forward to this redo, but that’s quite a boring design on Buddy there.
