I understand Tiana was a "necessary downgrade" but at the very least I would hope they could at least keep the effects going.

This reskin it looking like a failure at this point.

Compared that to this new POV from Disneyland, rides in near perfect shape (I think lift hill Mamma Odie's mouth wasn't moving?).



Also the main drop timed perfectly with the Mark Twain going by... that's added insult to injury for the east coast

I went to WDW for the weekend, went to all the parks.

I skipped Tiana’s. No way I would’ve had it been Splash, weather was great.

It just feels like a D-ticket now, I know it’s not, but if they made the plot like the movie, I feel like it would’ve actually felt like a true successor, and while I’d mourn Splash I’d also love Tiana’s.

I think PATF is a solid movie with some great music and characters.

It’s B-tier WDA, but probably one of the best Disney movies to use for a log flume so I don’t really know how we ended up with what we got.

Nah, I think this plot can work, with some updates. I don’t see how that plot would be much better?

It wouldn't. Although that one at least had the voodoo spirits from the film show up to mess with us when we get to the lift hill, so it would've had that, at least.

I think you can still have the voodoo spirits in this storyline tbh. If I had to choose, I would add them to be the ones who turn you tiny instead of Mama Oodie.

Well 1. Tokyo has very difficult cultural norms to us and lets be honest, there is a lot of non confrontational racism still.

2. Tokyo is reportedly also looking to change out their Splash but to a different property.

3. Tokyos Splash literally makes up a whole land so its much harder of a retheme.

I do - that plot makes sense and is easy to follow. I do love Louis too.

I’m still not sure what the plot they went with actually is? And why does Gramma throw us down the cliff of the salt dome?

It's a shortcut to the party. She literally says this on the attraction, its supposed to be a fun shortcut.

Ah thats okay, the lift hill is Tiana's weakest part especially since the original intended effect is almost never on.

In my remaster of Tiana's, I would definitely change it to be more climatic.

Tokyo is run/owned by OLC. They can do as they please and good for them!

This is just my guess and is not based on facts but I suspect TWDC will eventually pay OLC TRUCKLOADS of MONEY to OLC to change their Splash to something else in the name of social justice.

Not sure if this is just speculation, but last I heard the rumor mill is that Tokyo is considering a splash replacement but not Tiana’s. Was kinda hoping we get an improved Tiana’s over there tbh tho

Just speculation on my part, but whatever Tokyo decides to do, it will be better than what we have in DRL and WDW.

Its very sad to think about as my home resort is WDW..

Yeah, that's been a winning strategy. It would be very Disney though.

Off a POV from today:

• Mill Tiana is still cross eyed and her face isn’t moving
• Zydeco Louis can’t move his left arm or eyes
  • What parts of him are moving are very jerky
• Zydeco Tiana’s head is stuck slouched at an angle and she can only turn her head, not look around.
• Rara Louis’ mouth is broken and he’s lost a lot of his movement
  • His head is also broken
• Log Tiana is cross eyed
• Magic swirl effects before the dip-drop aren’t working.
• Fog effects on the dip-drop aren’t working (Has this ever worked aside from previews?!)
• The bottle screen before the big lift hill still has the blackened area.
• Mama Odie screen is turned off once again.
• “Magic” fog and light effects on the big lift hill aren’t working.
• Finale Louis’ mouth isn’t working.
• Finale mama odie’s mouth isn’t working and she’s slouched too far forward.
  • It seems like she still does her “Freeze and reset” for the next log while they seem to have fixed that for most other figures.

On a positive, they seem to have fixed the firefly screen where the farming bunnies were.
