DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Encanto will be trackless right? I really hope they take advantage of the medium and do more dancing/manipulation with the vehicles to make it feel like Casita is alive.

For me, none of the U.S. trackless offerings have lived up to Hunny Hunt or Mystic Manor in how the vehicles actually navigate the space.

It's going to be tracked; the ride system is something similar to Journey Into Imagination with Figment.

Conservation Station is adding Australian animals to the new Bluey experience coming to there.
Actually - that’s a move that will most likely reduce the number of animals at the park.

The goats, sheep, etc. are leaving and I’m guessing the animals that will be on display there will be the wallaby and / or kangaroos and/ or any other Australian animals they already have elsewhere at the park.

They can always move the goats and sheep to the Tropical Americas section.... The Petting Zoo Madrigal.....

If I can't do this with a donkey outside of the Encanto ride then whats the point of the entire expansion.

It'll be interesting. They already have kangaroos by the ToL.

They could relocate them, but you'd think something would take their place in such a prominent spot.

Well the Nigerian dwarf goats at the warden’s outpost was added in late 2020.

So, there will still be goats.

There are currently two species of kangaroos and one of wallabies in DAK. Perhaps emus and koalas will be added in the new space.

We already had this discussion pages ago.

Disney building any new animal exhibit in the foreseeable future is pretty much out the picture. I can only see them upgrading and expanding current facilities.

Ever since Blackfish in 2013 that basically destroyed Sea World the general public is a lot more critical on Animal conservation and zoos as a whole.

Personally I think it would be irresponsible for them procure any more Animals unless absolutely necessary.
it’s not Blackfish or anything like that. And then adding another animal exhibit is not irresponsible in the slightest if done correctly

It’s simply money. They don’t want to invest in it as operating costs are higher.

I could see them adding animals in the future, just not on the side of the park that Tropical Americas is going.

I know that was a joke idea, but now that I think of it, a butterfly habitat could work if there needs to be an animal exhibit at TA. Encanto does feature butterflies a lot and plus butterfly habitats don't need that large of a space if it's completely outside and maybe could be placed by the entrance of the ride or by the Casita.

Sure I know butterflies aren't that exciting as an exhibit as say capybaras, but it could work and at least provide some animal exhibits for the land, and there is already a pollinator habitat at Conservation Station, but if they are retheming the entire Conservation Station to Bluey and removing that, they could easily relocate it to around the Encanto attraction easily.

The park has added new animals…
Are they building entirely new exhibits for them though or just adding to their current collection?
Conservation Station is adding Australian animals to the new Bluey experience coming to there. The only reasons I could see Disney not putting any animal exhibits into Tropical Americas is because of 1. Lack of space in the land to put any exhibits, 2. Disney wanting there to be nightlife in AK to open AK for later hours in the future.

Also I don't think Blackfish has anything to do with Disney not wanting to put any new animals in, because as far as I am aware, Disney's conservation program at AK does a pretty good job at taking care of the animals there, so I don't see there being any hard public pushback for putting more animal exhibits (...Unless you happen to be PETA, but even then, they're pretty much despised even among the public sooo)
I agree Disney has an excellent track records when it comes their conservation work and making sure the animals are well taken care of.
I would say a vocal minority is more critical.
The general public still has a favorable opinion of zoos, especially if animals have larger habitats as they generally do in DAK.
Yes the larger habitats are definitely a plus and considering the park is called Animal Kingdom I would hope they would live up that name and not try to shove animal exhibit into the TA plot.
