Pretty sure @lazyboy97o has stated asbestos abatement was done during the retheme to SGE. I believe it was removed from Space Mountain in the late 2000’s as well?

None of your posts offer any kind of discussion or thought. Simply trashing on things in WDW is not constructive or intelligent.Just like every other store in MK and possibly the whole resort.
I can’t speak to the specific timeframe of when individual facilities were abated. What I have mentioned is that there was a large, multi-year effort starting around 25 years ago to go ahead and get ahead of the issue and do as much abatement as possible. The switch to Stitch’s Great Escape does fit in that timeframe, but I can’t say for certain if that when the facilities was addressed.Pretty sure @lazyboy97o has stated asbestos abatement was done during the retheme to SGE. I don't disagree with your general point, but on this one, he's not all that wrong. Merchandise has been mostly homogenized into oblivion, and only a handful of spots offer anything unique these days.None of your posts offer any kind of discussion or thought. This is just saying to stop using the building. Even if there hadn’t already been significant abatement work across all of the Magic Kingdom and other Phase 1 facilities, this isn’t a game plan for abatement. First, the mere presence of asbestos containing products is not in and of itself a concern. Asbestos can safely remain in place. The extent of protection measures, which can be localized, depends on the type of material being removed. Putting in a new attraction would not be the first change to the building since the 70s, so the idea that it’s suddenly a problem now just doesn’t follow.Call me crazy, but I actually have a game plan for clearing out asbestos in the Stitch building in Tomorrowland if you all want to hear it. Of course, this all depends on whether Space Mountain closes for its rumored retracking, and along with it, the PeopleMover to allow construction work inside both SM and the Stitch complex.
- Temporarily relocate Cosmic Ray's operations and menu to Tomorrowland Terrace.
- Auntie Gravity's menu moves to The Lunching Pad.
- Star Traders can afford to close for a while because the same kind of merch can be found throughout Magic Kingdom anyway.
- Progress City diorama receives complete restoration and refurbishment.
- Stitch's Great Escape space can finally get a replacement.
I still believe Stitch Encounter from Tokyo/Paris will replace Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at some point in the future, since it pretty much uses the same show technology.
It’s a pretty common phenomenon in the fan community. Disney does something people don’t like and eventually a technical issue that Disney can’t avoid gets circulated as the cause.Really haven't heard anyone assert that until recently. The space was rumored for new attractions for a while, then a silence, and only recently baseless speculation about asbestos.
I'm looking forward to the time when the building being empty is attributed to a sinkhole. It’s a pretty common phenomenon in the fan community. Disney does something people don’t like and eventually a technical issue that Disney can’t avoid gets circulated as the cause.

Just like the yeti being entombed in Exhibition Everest, the paper boy's face being broken in SSE, and the sink hole under Horizons. It’s a pretty common phenomenon in the fan community. Just because someone claims there are alligators in the utilidors doesn't mean we all deserve to know for sure whether there are alligators in the utilidors or not.So.... is there asbestos or not? Does anyone actually have an answer?
This post.... What a crocJust because someone claims there are alligators in the utilidors doesn't mean we all deserve to know for sure whether there are alligators in the utilidors or not.
False! We've been through this before. The rivers of America was leaking badly into the utilities which is how the crocodiles got in there in the first place.“You see, Disney HAD to get rid of the Rivers of America. There was a lake monster snatching kids!”
Most likely no. They just knocked down Tom Sawyer Island. They ripped open the Frontierland Trading Post to turn it into a lounge. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is being reworked right now. Work has happened around the Magic Kingdom for years now without facilities being sealed off. But even if they did opt to leave some in the north Tomorrowland building it is largely irrelevant. It is not the sort of thing that would deter spending a minimum of tens of millions of dollars.So.... is there asbestos or not? Does anyone actually have an answer?
Yeah you have a point. Was just wondering.Just because someone claims there are alligators in the utilidors doesn't mean we all deserve to know for sure whether there are alligators in the utilidors or not.
This space is used as a CM Break room, or was at one point in recent years so I would say it’s safe to say there is no asbestos in this area.So.... is there asbestos or not? Does anyone actually have an answer?
Thanks! I feel like this particular thing always randomly comes up again and again. I'm going to remember to just ignore from now on whenever that random poster brings it up in the future! Most likely no. They just knocked down Tom Sawyer Island. Its a fact there are gators in the utilidors, a WDW bus driver told me so!Just because someone claims there are alligators in the utilidors doesn't mean we all deserve to know for sure whether there are alligators in the utilidors or not.
Nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens and it is something out there.I feel so incredibly embarrassed right now for believing something that apparently isn't true for years. And I deeply apologize. No hard feelings?
