I don’t like roller coasters because I’m a baby who hates big drops. But that’s just me and im happy we aren’t getting one. I welcome the alternative
That’s great and all but you do realize that Hagrid’s (play devil’s advocate and ignore capacity for a moment) has a longer wait than any ride at Walt Disney World. Rise has half the wait.
Disney absolutely needs to build more coasters like Space Mountain in Paris and Rock n’ Rollercoaster that are actually thrilling.
TRON is cool I’m glad it exists but it just does minor banked turns with no drops. It is fun but it is not a world-class coaster or trying to be. Despite not having inversions, Guardians is more like a serious coaster that goes head to head (in its unique way) with rides like VelociCoaster. MK doesn’t have a ride like that, neither does AK, and since MK is getting so many rides, two in Cars, a family villains boat ride potentially, it’s time that Disney peels off people who crave a big coaster but find themselves having to go to universal anytime they want it.
Every park needs boat rides (flume, typical boat, etc.) multiple coasters family, very thrilling, dark rides at all scales, E down to your Peter Pan, etc.
Every park should have a unique identity but have a large enough ride line-up that any type of guest can have a good experience no matter what they prioritize, at least, that should be the goal long-term.
Why should DCA, Disneyland Paris, Hollywood Studios, Disney Adventure World, and not too long from now Shanghai, potentially Tokyo’s Space Mountain, and all of Universal’s parks now that USF is getting one, but the biggest park in the world doesn’t? I’m not even saying VeliciCoaster/Stardust/Iron Gwazi, I’m simply saying a Hagrid’s/Taron because deep down know this would be cheaper and also tonally cheapen the land too.
Star Wars needed either an outdoor or indoor equivalent when they did Galaxy’s Edge, they didn’t, so if DL needed one MK needs one. Only argument I can see is that TRON takes this place, but it really doesn’t. It goes fast but it’s a family coaster through and through, the gimmick are the super cool lightcycles you mount, it’s its own thing.
Cars is the family-style thrill ride that’s for all ages I assume like an Indiana Jones Adventure. MK could obviously use a Coco boat ride like DCA, but if the Maleficent boat ride doesn’t have a height requirement it would fill this. They need to do the coaster right, Disney people love them, I’m sick of acting like we don’t.
They don’t need another obe to compete with Mine Train, Shanghai Disneyland is literally getting what I’m describing in the form of Spider-Man despite already having TRON and SDMT.
Space is def getting redone after Big Thunder, but that’s another family coaster on the caliber of Izma.
I hope this rumor isn’t true. Literally just listening to the masses of online people that don’t get Disney and think a funny moment is better than making a world-class Taron competitor.
I’d rather them scrap it and make a Nightmare Before Christmas family ride in a miniland like Donkey Kong.
If the 2000s era Emperor’s New Groove gets a major ride and Lilo and Stitch, which is far, far better, and literally it’s garbage remake still make $1,000,000,000, they do not need to give this movie a ride. Emperor is funny, but it is not a great movie on the caliber of Stitch, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beauty, Hunchback, Princess and the Frog, Hercules, or others, so I’d take a Jafar or Hades ride any day.
