DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

The big franchises of the 2010s are all likely being eyed for future projects at WDW
Moana, Zootopia, Inside Out, Coco

Especially with the 2020s originals struggling to reach the same level of popularity, Encanto aside
Iirc that is basically exactly what Iger said before that he sees those franchises as the ones Disney should move forward with.

Inside Out would be such an easy slam dunk for Wonders of Life. Coco could go into any of the existing theme parks. Moana can go into the existing parks as well (but is already in Epcot)

Zootopia imo would be great in Hollywood Studios.

Anyone know if there will be any work on the ride system and track for Indy?

I’m a little concerned with Disney re-using a nearly 30 year old ride system for their new E-ticket. Especially when Dinosaur and Indy on both coasts were never known for their reliability.

Also dreading the day we see photos of the old animatronics trashed, I really hope they save a few

That’s the first i’ve ever heard of that, never knew it had anything other than a backstory of the institute and road side carnival. The other areas are far clearer with this anyways.

Then you genuinely just weren't paying attention lol. Dinoland had arguably the most intricate and layered storytelling of any of DAK's lands with several very large signs throughout very clearly telling you that it is located in Diggs County, USA.

Funny i had no issue in the other areas, the backstory is intricate because they had to make sense of having a parking lot carnival part of an institute with pay for play games, and cardboard dino’s as theming.

Hi, literally nothing I showed you is from Dinorama, so it is 100% not relevant to the fact that the land hit you over the head with the fact that it was located in Diggs County. Also, Dinorama was built well after all of the layered storytelling, which is all part of the original land and has absolutely nothing to with it, so I genuinely don't know what you're trying to say here.

The fact that it is located in Diggs County, along with all of that signage (and honestly a lot more that I didnt feel like digging around for pictures of) has been there since opening day in 1998, three years before anything from Dinorama would be added.

Edit: Also, the "parking lot carnival" is not part of the Institute. That's kind of the entire point of it. It sounds like you've never bothered to pay attention to, like, anything in the land and somehow feel compelled to shift that burden onto the artists who designed it.

Well Stitch did have an attraction... it just wasn't good. Moana currently has an attraction. I get that it's not specifically a ride.
I'm probably one of the very few, but I thought Stich was actually quite good for what it was--a redo built on the bones of an earlier ride. I could well be wrong, but given its location, I think many people walked by it without realizing it was there.

I think it was a good effort too actually. It’s just that those who knew that it was a reskin of a much cooler ride for adults were likely to find it lame, and it still was too scary for the youngest kids.

My only issue if you will with Stitch was that when my family and I harnessed ourselves in on those seats, we thought that we were going for a ride.
I had deliberately kept research on the park low back then.
I wasn't on this site (if it existed) and chose not to spoil the surprise through YouTube videos.
So many rides and ride systems were new to me.

The problem wasn’t just that it was too scary for young kids, but given that it was an indoor attraction with no height requirement featuring a popular children’s character, many parents assumed (yes, despite the signage) that it would be perfect for their little ones. That’s why its presence actually decreased overall guest ratings — the people who would hate it the most weren’t skipping it, they were particularly drawn to it.

ITTBAB suffered from a similar phenomenon, but at least there, if your kids were terrified, you could walk out in the middle, you weren’t strapped to the seat.
