I can’t remember- did anyone official ever say there was a sinkhole under horizons?Checks out.

No one "official" that I know of.I can’t remember- did anyone official ever say there was a sinkhole under horizons?
Yeah, that was kind of my point. I didn’t think anybody had ever officially said there was a sinkhole beneath horizons. No one "official" that I know of.
However, our best insiders have said 'no sinkhole.'
Shhh! You’re not allowed to tell people factual information about construction. They sometimes get mad for reasons…
The Tarzan version was a stopgap to keep the tree standing during the Pressler years so therefore years later Kim Irvine still had something to work with.I did like it much better than the cheap Tarzan plastic figures. Those stairs though...straight up. I have a bad left knee that did NOT appreciate it, lol.
Especially, when they already have another internationally themed park based on human culture.Encanto and Indy are not films about animals so any attempt to make them fit is going to be awkward at best.
Not that I have heard. if there was than what is Mission Space standing on?I can’t remember- did anyone official ever say there was a sinkhole under horizons?
If I remember correctly- it was Tony Baxter who offered the idea directly to Eisner as a way to save the tree. And it worked! Thankfully. The Tarzan version was a stopgap to keep the tree standing during the Pressler years so therefore years later Kim Irvine still had something to work with.
I still think the Atlantis Subs would have been cooler than Nemo but Atlantis wasn't successful, so.If I remember correctly- it was Tony Baxter who offered the idea directly to Eisner as a way to save the tree. And it worked! Thankfully.
Oh for sure!!! But I’m just glad the subs are still around. I love them so much.I still think the Atlantis Subs would have been cooler than Nemo but Atlantis wasn't successful, so.
I just wish there was a Tony-type figure for Magic Kingdom to stop the ROA destruction.Oh for sure!!! But I’m just glad the subs are still around. I love them so much.
Yeah, I vaguely remember that. That's why the ponds around Odyssey are where they are.Yeah, that was kind of my point. I didn’t think anybody had ever officially said there was a sinkhole beneath horizons.
In this case, a former Disney Imagineer, who specifically worked in architecture, said there was a sinkhole in the area where the odyssey was built, and that the reason that the odyssey restaurant was built and designed the way that it is, was because of that sinkhole.
Fair enough. An actor doing their most famous persona doesn't make it an IP attraction. Ellen's Energy Adventure, for example, was not an IP attraction, even though it featured Ellen and Bill Nye doing their usual persona and Jeopardy.
Still, this little side diversion of a film being the only new non-IP attraction at WDW in 20 years is pretty sad.
That’s my general concern for all of these projects. Other than maybe Trowbridge, where are the Baxters, the Rodhes, the Rafferrys of the current crop?I just wish there was a Tony-type figure for Magic Kingdom to stop the ROA destruction.
Why not just put Coco to the right and ignore those pesty sinkholes? lol
A big part of why you know those names is because those people were willing to be publicized. Why should a strong art director at Walt Disney Imagineering agree to that today? Why volunteer for the direct harassment that is sure to come, even more so if they’re not a white man? That’s my general concern for all of these projects. I do think the folks designing stuff like Beak and Barrell and HM Parlor are doing good stuff.
Depends on the amount of Photoshopping that happens after the fact.Next you are going to tell me that ground breaking ceremoies aren't part of the actual site prep work.
Yes, it's a rough time to be the face of any company. Since there's not necessarily a relationship between how publicly known someone is and how talented they are, there very well may be strong and influential creatives at WDI -- on par with Baxter, Rohde, etc. -- that we don't know about (the blue area below) because they choose not to be a public figure.A big part of why you know those names is because those people were willing to be publicized.
