You’re really setting yourself up here…the “true Parks guy” has toiled for decades in a lot of middle management. How really…is that totally different than chapek?

And he has a better personality…but does that equate willing to stick his neck out for better park quality over financial backlash?

Scary thought…he’s more “groomed like bob”…who I’ll remind had NEVER done anything wrong…
The only truth at the moment is that neither of us know what will happen. You can be more negative, I’ll stay more positive, and time will tell. Meanwhile, spring training is underway! I can hear that pop of the gloves from the long ball toss all the way from my couch! One of these years I will make it to Clearwater.

He may be great…but any assumption that is to be the case isn’t validated as it stands…for now

Apparently most everyone has forgotten that Joshie Boy spend his first 15 years with Disney in very much non-park roles. He has never worked a day in the parks in his life (that at least has been made public, to my knowledge). But sure, his last 10 years in park-related management means he's a "parks guy" and he'll "invest even MOAR!!!" in the parks.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go finish my listings to sell my prime real estate interests in southern Florida, to go along with my other real estate listing in the Brooklyn, NY area. I'm hearing there's a huge market for both.

I did a side by side comp of Josh the salvation and Bob the lesser (by ego…not by stature)…which was enlightening.

Similar and yet not.

One was more “symbolic”…brief stops as head of travel related posts…but not a ton of action

The other…product peddling…had much more money and “bigger” strategic choices there. More than I thought.

They aren’t really ALL that different.

It seems like someone who's spent a decade in management of Disney parks has the kind of experience needed to run a company whose main source of earnings is Disney parks. At least it's a good start.

Definitely sounds like he’s off to a good start with Villains Land.

Looks like Disney is changing course and will fix itself before it fails.

Good news for everyone!

Too bad he didn't have a stint as a front line CM. Because many on these forums who have had, think that's sufficient for them to run the parks judging by their posting.

Can't design a $1 billion dollar land without scooping ice cream first! Or else how would you know what to do? You'd be lost on what flavor the Villians land ice cream is. It's not like he's routinely talking to fans and creators in the Disney space before and after this. Makes a prescence in the parks and to cast members and.. ya know has run the park for many years. Without washing the dishes at Hoop De Doo, he's basically useless.

It’s a start. But too many have this notion that Josh is going to “do so much for the parks!!!” because he’s been running DPEP for 6 years. If the company is leaning heavily on the division the newly-anointed CEO was just running… why would he change anything?

Because I’m a fan who spends a ton of money there and has for MANY years, seen the best of WDW, don’t like some of the directions they are taking, and expect more?

If they focused more on the guest experience than the almighty dollar like they used to, they wouldn’t redo or replace so many things and could spend that money to expand instead

Looks like price increase will help pay for the new Frozen AA faces though
I mean I agree with you, but you are making a conscious choice.

I really don't like Galaxy's Edge's approach but I still love aspects, and if I'm at the parks I'm not going to focus on what I don't like.
