MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I’m certain that the question mark square will most likely be either…

a. the future home of the Memento Mori gift shop, because the current Memento Mori is really tiny, and the Haunted Mansion is a merchandising goldmine.

They’ll build it into a carriage house like the new Disneyland mansion gift shop.

Or…

b. Based on the popularity of the Haunted Mansion bar on the DCL Treasure, a Haunted Mansion themed lounge/restaurant.
Jungle Cruise got the Skipper Canteen, Pirates got the Beak and Barrel, the Mansion may be going along those lines.
Doing this might also mean a closure of Sleepy Hollow with the menu items shifting over.

I want a HM restaurant or bar so bad. Really hope that's what the ? square is. Also for the big long structure next to BTM While very likely to be shops or sm in villains this building I assume will also act as a good boundary between BTM and Villians, with it likely being used as a buffer kinda like that new cast member building by Luigi's in DCA or the shared RR's of frontier and Adventureland at MK

People on the IU forums are hoping the Avengers infinity Defense ride system is used for the Villains E ticket dark ride. Could you see the doing this or should they aim bigger with trackless to make it MK's ROTR?

I just don’t see how with the success of the Beak & Barrel in Adventureland, that they don’t make a Haunted Mansion parlor/lounge themed experience. I was pretty surprised how many effects and little performances they have just for Pirates. They could do so many similar things like that with ghosts and the undead and of course with a Haunted Mansion theme. There are so many stories that already exist that they could build off of.

You can saturate a market. And if I have to pick between drinking with pirates or ghosts, pirates are obvious.

There is certainly room for a darker place to eat and drink in a Villain Land.

I'd put money it's the same ride system as Avengers and Spidey and TF.

I will continue to hope for a Cruella themed restaurant. It would be simply marvelous!

I still say it would be a missed opportunity to call the villain restaurant ā€œThe Black Cauldronā€.

Featuring Horned King’s Gumbo.

Three spice levels: mild, medium, and cauldron-born.

That’s my vote. Cruising probably isn’t in the near future for us, but if we go eventually, I want something really special and unique to look forward to, not a place I’ve already been to in the parks. Besides that, there are sooo many other great ideas to choose from, as this is mostly (not entirely, but mostly) untapped IP.

While part of me thinks trackless would give the Villains E ticket dark ride the same scale as ROTR, the Avengers ID ride system is more thrilling if tuned/programmed right, might might be for fitting for a ride with the villains. You get to actually feel the action. But we shall see come D23 2026.

The Disney villains are beloved because of their personality, style, and dialogue, none of which are well served at all by an ā€œactionā€ ride or particularly by a coaster. The theme of the current era at WDW is Disney pandering to what they think fans want regardless of whether an idea is terrible or not, so I guess we’ll get a thrill coaster and a frantic flight simulator.

Isn't that basically just a re-tread of the Spiderman IOA ride vehicles? Like they did for the new Peter Pan Ride at Fantasy Springs?...and if using this ride system I think we would be assured it would be mostrly screen based...which would be a bummer...

That's my fear too.. that it would be mostly screen based if it's that system.

I just want a ride with the Disney Villains like what Universal did with the Frankenstein ride. AA's everywhere. I don't even care if everyone yells that Disney just copied Universal with their villains ride.
