What happened to insiders?

Did disney get better at cracking down on insiders? Or is there just no central figure like Al Lutz back in the day for people to pass along their Inside scoops to?

Even if some of it was fabricated or at the very least one sided it was so fun to read about the TDA office drama back in the day.

I also wonder if it is one of the reason disney seems to announce projects further in advance these days. Like previous we wouldn't know about avatar coming to dca officially. But these days they announce things before word accidentally gets out

I think part of the problem is that a lot of the insiders were being informed by people with agendas against Chapek (either when he was head of parks and resorts, or when he became CEO).

It took 20ish years, but big organizations have mostly figured out how to manage information flow in the digital age.

It's not easy to find people with the right intersection of opportunity and interest in producing leaks anymore.

I’m not sure who you are referencing, since that rumor seems perennial, but we do have recent confirmation that was a real project being pushed in 2022.


I think the rumour mill was also driven by imagineers trying to push their projects. Now that their work seems more prescriptive (ie people are on active projects), there isn’t currently a desire to push for public support of their idea that executives are being wishy washy on.
