Update: just did it for a final time. It was a nice sendoff.

Bring on Indy
Agreed. We got our last ride in before the closure.

And not just Indy. Bring it all on, the entire Tropical Americas project. This will be interesting to see, Bruce Vaughn and Imagineering undertaking an entire land replacement. And it’s just the start of multiple new experiences over the next several years.

There is a lot of change happening: new lands, new CEO, new Star Wars leads. This is analogous to sports for me. There is the season, and the off season. Moves are made during the offseason. A new CEO, along with other high up positions changing, along with Vaughn leading Imagineering. That’s off season for me. The season really starts with all of these projects colt getting under way.

I know a lot of tears and uneasy feelings dominate the forums regarding all of this. Not me. I love watching huge capital projects like this change the landscape of the parks. When I think of Tropical Americas with Indy and Encanto (and Bluey 😜), DHS getting Monstropolis and the Animation Experience, and MK getting Cars and Villains, that is so much new stuff I really cannot wait.

Add to that Coco, Marvel and Pandora in DL, Adventureworld in DLP, new Space Mountain in TDL and Spider-Man attractions in Shanghai and Hong Kong, it really showed how much effort is going into parks globally. And per their allotted budget for turbocharging, there should be more coming that hasn’t been announced yet.

I don't know, the fact that they're continuing the humorous-style of decor even days before the closing is actually kind of great, in my opinion. I don't like that any of this is happening, but this is funny.

I wouldn't call this humorous, it's just a list of references to stuff. You don't get anything out of it other than "I know what that is". The only jokey one is the Dinoland one.

If anything this is everything wrong with the modern Imagineering mindset in one image. Restaurant O'saurus is full of world building and actual jokes, this is just "remember this thing, remember this thing, remember this thing...", at the expense of world building (this note makes no sense from any perspective, none of that stuff fits together timeline-wise, it shouldn't be in the fossil shipping room, and who is supposed to be writing this?).

(Also this has been up for over a year.)

These photos are incredible; thank you so much for capturing all the amazing details! I likely won't make it to the park this weekend, so having these makes it better. I'll personally miss the skeleton of Sue; I wonder if they will have her moved somewhere else, even though I know the original is in Chicago. Has anyone heard anything? Might be a fun addition to the Orlando Science Center.

Anyone else still convinced they're not gonna shoehorn the song into the ride?
Search "Bruno" in this thread and you'll see you're the only one constantly bringing up the song over the past couple years. No one is claiming that he and his musical motif won't be present in the ride. Songs in musicals are generally non-diegetic, so there's nothing narratively wrong with him or others singing something to that tune, perhaps as we encounter him behind the walls, just like there's no problem with the Part of Your World reprise playing during Ariel's wedding in Little Mermaid.

Exactly. At minimum, I’d expect an instrumental of all of the most-popular songs. I was shocked at the lack of ANY version of “Friends on the Other Side” in TBA.

They’d be fools to not include the iconic music in their ride. That would be like building a Star Wars land with no Star Wars music.

Is anyone else completely devastated Dinosaur is closing? 😢

Yes. I love this ride so much.

I'm spending a solid 2,000 or so dollars solely to be down for the last day. I'm not even there yet and it's just hanging over me like a rain cloud.

Anyone really upset over Muppet Vision or Tom Sawyer Island, at least be happy that was one strike and it was done. I'm over here in the god awful situation of knowing exactly how terrible I felt at the closing for Rama, and the Boneyard, and knowing this is going to be WORSE.

It's like anti-Christmas; I don't want it to come but I want it over with.

The thing is that everyone keeps insisting that this isn't a book report, it takes place during the first act of the film, BEFORE "We Don't Talk About Bruno" is sung, and that they're so totally gonna make it fit Animal Kingdom.

It'd make no sense for them to sing "We Don't Talk About Bruno" during the ride if it takes place before it's sung in the movie. But they're gonna do it anyway because no way they're leaving out the film's most popular song.

Same reason why they have Elsa singing "Let It Go" at one point in Frozen Ever After, even though the attraction takes place after she sang it in the movie and she has no reason to be singing it again in the context of the attraction. And I'm not expecting them to give the song new lyrics about how great capybaras and coatis are (espeically since they didn't do that for "Let It Go", or for any of the songs in Tiana's Bayou Adventure).

It's a musical. Bruno and the other Madrigals don't actually sing the song at all. It's for the audience's entertainment; the songs are non-diegetic, unlike, say, Healing Incantation from Tangled, which is an in-universe song. You are supposed to interpret the songs in broad strokes, as potentially covering both things happening conversationally and explicitly expounding on the thoughts and feelings of the various characters.

There is no reason that they couldn't mention not talking about Bruno on a day when they are, in fact, still not talking about Bruno. There is likewise no reason that the song can't show up as a general musical motif, either instrumentally or with different lyrics, as in Frozen Ever After.

And just as a general note, you're simultaneously talking about many different potential issues with the ride and suggesting that everyone who challenges you in the slightest measure is diametrically opposed to your view on all of them when that's not true at all. Please stop misrepresenting what others have actually said. No regular posters here have suggested that every single scene will focus exclusively on animals. In fact, many have expressed doubts about how much focus the animals will get. No one has said that the various musical numbers from the film won't show up in some form or fashion. There are vanishingly few if any who have said that it will fit Animal Kingdom perfectly or that it would be their first IP pick for the park. Rather, most are just trying to correct you when you contradict what is known thus far through official press releases.
