What was the total cost to conceptionalise, design and manufacture these (rather pointless) magnets ?

I wonder if Donnie is so obsessed with Aldi's and Ikea's cultures of cost cutting that theme parks should be the same.

On the contrary, i see little point in rewarding locals anymore than the generous perks they already get. This money could be better spent elsewhere.

I don't really the business idea behind it. Which local is going to have the warm fuzzy feeling after getting a magnet? Locals just want year round access at the lowest cost possible, bring in their home made food, use the trash cans, use Disney as a make shift garden for their kids to play around, watch some fireworks, but ultimately cause crowding and deter high spending tourists.

All perks should and must be removed for them.

Alternative you could look at it, that a magnet as a gift is so pitiful that it's actually perfect metaphor.

Figure an hour of an artist's time to whip up a design ($250), three weeks of executive scrutiny ($62,478), and a minimum order of 5,000 magnets ($4680 at Sticker Mule) and you come up with $67,408.

Assume that it cost a lot less than that because Disney has both the artists on staff and the print shop on site.

It’s a cheap marketing exercise. For less than the cost of a billboard, you have a giant number of cars in the area advertising a brand. Meanwhile, the passholders get a warm and fuzzy feeling when they get a freebie that cost the company pennies.

You don’t know a thing about business, do you?
