DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I'm sure somebody's gonna say "but the Encanto ride is gonna be a B/C/D-ticket!"... though, to be honest, I'm kind of expecting it to be more like Journey of the Little Mermaid than Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Y'know, a dark ride that's trying to be an E-Ticket. But we'll have to wait and see...

I love when people argue against themselves.

Speaking of Pinocchio, I sure wish we had gotten both the Alice in Wonderland Ride and the Pinocchio ride in our Fantasyland... Along with the Snow White ride and boot the princesses back out of the hall and into the Main Street theater or let Enchanted Whatever it is called with Belle become a multi-princess meet and greet...with a fancy queue and entrance....

There's really no reason to have Snow White back with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in existence. If they ever restored a dark ride to the space, it should be themed to a different story. Sleeping Beauty, for instance, could be superimposed on the Scary Adventure framework quite easily.

... But Enchanted Tales has a fancy queue and actually is a good meet and greet where standing in a queue doesn't feel like a complete waste.

I agree the queue is great... the show/meet and greet is just OK... I would have loved for WDW to get an Alice dark ride and mini land... & Dwarfs is cute and all but I think the Scary Adventures tells a different part of the story that could exist side by side with the coaster... I am just glad the version of New Fantasyland that had three princess meet and greets where 7 dwarfs is was changed before constuction... Maybe replace Be Our Guest with an actual attraction? There are so many things they could do....

This is the part I agree with, largely because Be Our Guest has become completely useless without lunch, and there'll probably be a more desirable table service in Villains anyway. Any funds toward "fixing" dining should be directed toward Cosmic Ray's, Pecos Bill, and Village Haus since quick service is where Magic Kingdom really falls flat; just let Be Our Guest be anything else.

I feel like I remember hearing that Be Our Guest served more meals than any other restaurant on property... it's not going anywhere.

Well, like I said, we'll just have to see how it turns out.

I still think they should move the princess meet and greets to the little garden where the Mirabel meet-and-greet is and put a dark ride in the Fairytale Hall space, plus level the speedway and put an Alice in Wonderland dark ride (it can be two-level like its Disneyland counterpart, too!) there, since it's near the Mad Tea Party.

They should demolish the speedway and let Fantasyland annex that space. They could easily fit 3 small-scale dark rides (à la AIW/PDJ) in that footprint. AIW would make a lot of sense right next to the Teacups.

Personal pitch would be extend Storybook circus into this area to make it a full fledged land and give me a Ducktales inspired ride, ie an east coast toontown but with the circus theme

Good point. I'm surprised we haven't seen a modern Wonderland dark ride using all the new ride system/show technologies, seems like an IP that can really exploit those effects. A Wonderland mini-land there would be really cool with dark ride, fantastical hedge maze queue, teacups.

Got my final rides on Dinosaur and time in the skeleton of Dinoland this week. Was quite depressing. Change is inevitable I guess, but I have a hard time believing the new version of Restaurantosaurus will be as detailed as what exists now. We will see. Hope they prove me wrong. I definitely do not want a bland box cafeteria in place of Restaurantosaurus. As far as Indy goes, just still feels totally unnecessary. Dinosaur could have been kept and updated to fit into the new Tropical Americas theme. I don't know if Indy will be that much more popular than Dinosaur after the hype dies down, since it is in essence the same ride, so those who don't like it for the ride itself still will not like it.

It's too bad there wasn't a compromise that would have allowed some things to remain while still breathing new life into what was the carnival area. That or the eternal argument as to why they refuse to give DAK more than, what, 6 attractions? Why was Tropical Americas not just a true expansion, along with improving Dinoland?

When was the last time WDI was given the opportunity?
Little Mermaid? I'm not sure what would have made it significantly better but it's underwhelming for me. I think the Fantasyland dark rides tend to have snappier ride feel: tight turns, zipping around, into and out of scenes quickly. The omnimover is a slower pace and lacks imparting energy. You have too long to look at the scenes which don't necessarily impress upon longer inspection.

Its original Peter Pan style design would have been a lot better.
