EXACTLY - just restore it with 2026 techThe original Jules Verne version was a masterpiece!
I think some of the larger meteorite set pieces are already there (just the lights were turned off on them)Just remove the Star Wars elements and bring back the original music! You don't even need to bring back the original set pieces, I just want to eliminate the cognitive dissonance of seeing "rebel ships" launch via a canon from the 1800's.
The larger rotating meteors are now projection screens for TIE Fighters. The Electro de Velocitor is still mostly intact. IIRC so is the rock canyon.I think some of the larger meteorite set pieces are already there (just the lights were turned off on them)
If they do this and then have say a brand new Star Wars ride added to Discoveryland or Indiana Jones Adventure in Adventureland at DLP, while they’re doing say Avatar/Black Panther whatever at DAW, DLP will then finally feel like it is where it’s needed to be.Sharing the info that insider disneylandmagic has published on the French fan forum today:
Disneylandmagic says that from what he understood Space Mountain is expected to close in October 2027 and reopen in summer 2029. The plan is for a partial retrack, focusing on the sections that most need it, along with a major technical refurbishment. The attraction would get an entirely new show with new effects, designed as a tribute to From the Earth to the Moon rather than a direct copy of the 1995 version. There are also rumors of the return of the cannon launch backward effect. While not all details are confirmed, the project is described as very ambitious.
The goal is for 2029 to be a big year, with Space Mountain reopening in Disneyland Park and the Lion King attraction opening at Disney Adventure World.
As for new attractions in Disneyland Park, nothing major is planned beyond refurbishments and small additions. The next major new ride after Lion King is expected to be at Disney Adventure World, not Disneyland Park.

I honestly thought Lion King was going to DLP beforehand, made too much sense with the Frontierland/Adventureland areas flowing perfectly into it, but one hopes they have larger plans in the 2030s.
Yes or swap out for that caliber in scale or attention to place making. So, if they do A and B, BUT ALSO C, D, E, F, and G (which have not been announced and are purely fan-based wishlist items)... THEN it will be where it should have been.
