There’s a refurb probably coming later this year. The orignal plan was a 6 month closure after BTM reopened for tech work, reopen when BTM went down again, then close again after BTM for partial retracking and a possible retheme. It’s doubtful to ever be anything as elaborate as the original.

This is one of those projects where until it's announced I just don't believe it anymore.
There is so much evidence to suggest this will happen eventually but I feel like the stars have to align perfectly for this to happen.
I think internally for every reason they have to change it to 'Mission 4' 10 other reasons present themselves as to why now isn't the right time.

I think some of the larger meteorite set pieces are already there (just the lights were turned off on them)
The larger rotating meteors are now projection screens for TIE Fighters. The Electro de Velocitor is still mostly intact. IIRC so is the rock canyon.

This would be amazing. I love the Jules Verne space aesthetic and am so sad that I never got to ride the original (or even Mission 2)
