Tour guide removed from Disneyland

It’s irrelevant

You are attempting to profiteer off the overhead they pay

A ticket gives you the right to the park and what’s included…not turn it into a side business

And I’m the last person here to defend Disneys pricing tactics. The dead last
Again, I don’t disagree that Disney is wrong at protecting their business, it’s how they are handling this that bothers me. What I went through 2 days ago I don’t wish that to anyone ever.

Imagine that I come from a universe where I know more than 1000 tour guides and even guided with them back in Orlando, large groups of 85 people all dressed the same, with all the tour guide paraphernalia and whatnot and never once was called out, some cast members even thanked us for organizing the lines and managing their backpacks back and forth etc.

i think it’s also important to mention that I dont do the “hourly rate” where I am from we sell a package that includes guiding, Disney is not even mentioned on this contract, usually we guide the groups of 20-30 people on the parks, leave the home country with them, make them feel safe and confortable until we get there, they don’t speak English, that’s a major difference. I don’t think Disney has that service that can guide that many people on another language that’s not English. Would be cool though.

Is this universe known as Brazil by chance?

I think your only recourse is to contact Disney.

My experience with this forum leads me to suspect you aren’t going to get much sympathy here.

Oh yes I did that already and will return to the park today without my group to talk to security to understand better what’s allowed or not. So I can devise a better operation moving forward.
I am ok with everyone’s thoughts even if I can see some people here “happy” that this happened to me. It’s just the internet.

Wait, what? You charged people money, as a business, to be an official guide to Disneyland, and then got mad when Disneyland said no, you are not an official guide? That's like me creating a dance company and advertising that for tuition, the students will perform at Disneyland only to find out that it's unauthorized and flashmob style. Yeah, you can't treat Disneyland as a public space to busk for coins.

I hope you gave all those folks a refund.

No, I didn’t charge anyone to be an official guide to disneyland, I explained my operation previously.
No, I wasn’t mad they said no, I would be ok with that, it’s how poorly they are handling their associated travel agents by kicking them out of the parks that bother me as I said before.
No, I am not busking for coins. A little respect is appreciated.

No way! No refund. He had already told them to “Go right” on Pirates!

I don’t think anyone is happy. Just more confused on how/ why you are confused about the policy. And then of course just the whole “passengers” thing. Lol. Oh I get it… if you call them “passengers” they’re not customers right?

I don’t think security is going to help you.

those guests were in the park because of me, they would never go if I wasn’t there in the first place
Find that hard to believe. Every Disney Park around the world has international guests that visit the Parks every day without the need for some travel agent to play "tour guide" for an extra fee. In the end I'm sure these guests that you brought would have found their way to Disneyland or any other Disney Park without you and would have been just fine.

It’s not hard to believe at all. I have groups fully booked until the 2028. Tour guide is a real job.

Its not hard to believe that you have a business giving tours for money, that is easy to believe. The hard to believe part is that the only way that these guests visit a Disney Park is by paying YOU, like somehow you are the only thing that is allowing these guests to go to a Disney Park.

My bet is these guests would have gone to a Disney Park either way, with or without you.

I could see that side of it

They view it as theft… anything they feel is taking control of revenue away from them

But the tact isn’t appropriate

I’m confused. You have a viable business and you were THAT cavalier with the CM yet savvy enough to call your customers “passengers” but still confused about why what you’re doing is against Disney’s rules? Something doesn’t add up.

We do have a large market of people here that have never left the country and they only do so with a guide, I work with those people and they are very grateful we help them touring where the language barrier and cultural shock is an issue for them.

I am not confused at all, I understand the rule I just think the approach was too extreme. It stained the experience for my group and they felt bad about me.
They have a platform with all the agents in there, an email would be awesome to start with.

This didn’t address my post at all. I said nothing of their approach or your reaction to their approach.

Oh, I get it now, you think the reason I call my clients “passengers” is to avoid calling them clients right? Well no, this is really how we call them here.
And as I said, I never lied to the CM, I explained my whole operation to them, because I honestly think I have nothing to hide.
Maybe that’s why my ban was so light, whereas others were permanent.

Ok let’s assume that’s true I still don’t understand how you would be that cavalier with the CM with a viable business at stake? You’ve already admitted that you don’t think Disney is wrong for protecting their business meaning you knew something like this could happen and what you are doing is in a gray area at the very least. Yeah something doesn’t add up.
