News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Do I dare point out that the circular dish was not knocked off of the Falcon until the final battle in Return of the Jedi? Why would Vader be walking around when he died during that battle?

And while I’m at it, do I point out that Poe’s black X-wing was destroyed very quickly after the destruction of Starkiller Base, not long enough for it to visit Batuu and have a whole Rise of the Resistance adventure?

Do I?

DO I?!?

No, that would be silly.

Shut up, get in line for the new meet and greets, shops, and enjoy the updated BGM.

OKAY!?!?

Micechat:
  • First Order Cargo will transform into Black Spire Surplus, reframed as a military salvage operation dealing in artifacts from across the galaxy’s past, including Imperial and Rebel-era items.

  • Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, already one of the land’s strongest locations, will rotate its collection to reflect different periods in Star Wars history (which frankly makes perfect sense for an antiquities dealer).

  • Droid Depot will feature an earlier generation of the Mubo family, experimenting with BB-style droid prototypes.

  • Savi’s Workshop will continue its lightsaber-building experience, with Luke Skywalker himself showing interest in the knowledge and artifacts protected by Savi’s Gatherers.
And for the pièce de résistance: Olga’s will become Ackmena’s 😉

Lots to take in with this news. I like some things about it, saddened by a handful of others. If nothing else, it finally puts to rest the "will they, won't they" in terms of committing to a change like this one way or another. Many of the changes won't make too much sense if you like to think too hard about Star Wars like me but I sincerely doubt the average Disneyland guest or casual Star Wars fan will care. Happy for them. On that note, Disneyland's version appears it will be some weird timeline mix of Original Trilogy, New Republic and Sequel Trilogy.

Meanwhile, as I am someone who prefers the Prequels to all of those:

Can I start my asking for a General Grievous walk around character now?

With Filoni in charge, I don't think PT fans will have to worry. ;)

RotR needs to stay in the sequel timeline. They can do a OT ride from scratch but I really think them reconfiguring the entire setting of Rise and the characters within would destroy the experience in the process. It was the land’s one true inarguable win. Tinker with the rest all you want but leave it be.
I recall Martin saying in 2019 that RotR was specifically designed to make it possible to switch out era theming at a later date. I'm curious how that would be done though as the internal design of the star destroyer is consistent with ST and OT would look different.

If I had to guess the spaces they left it open for are easy and cheap and would add an feeling of clunky inconsistency to what is probably the tightest and most detail oriented Disney attraction of the 21st century. I really think they need to leave it alone.

Are Kylo Ren and Vi still roaming in galaxy’s edge?
I’ve been in both the DL and DHS SWGE numerous, numerous times, and every time I’ve seen Vi Moradi roaming around guests looked at her as nothing more than a really emphatic cosplayer. It was lost on virtually everyone that she was an original character for the land, let alone a CM.

I hope that means the Clone Wars and prequel trilogy are next. That would be pure nostalgia for millennials.
As a millennial, I am so tired with Clone Wars and Prequel callbacks and fan service. It is my issue with Season 2 of Mando.
"Heeeey everybody loook!!! It's Ahsoka! From the other show!!! Aren't you excited???"

No, Because you didn't bother giving me a reason to be excited for that character. You didn't establish them in the series, and they didn't do anything other than be a guest star to dump lore on Mando.

Confused on why the OT SIDE lists 2 of the three OT movies in addition to “Original Trilogy.” Is there something specifically about Empire and RTJ that are going to be located where they are listed on the map? Am I missing something? Or is this just a case of interns be interning?
Is that graphic official or just an attempt by someone on X to "explain" it based on what they heard during the panel?
