EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Less rides in WS, an empty circle of life, awful electric umbrella and liberty inn, closed UOE, no space 220, ugly innoventions plaza that was abandoned except for colortopia…
ROE literally makes up for all of that just by itself. It wasn't ideal obviously and going there in January 2019 felt like going to a funeral for me but at least I got my last views in before the morons finished killing it.

(modern) EPCOT has a theme???
It's more coherent than whatever DHS's theme is but really outside of Magic Kingdom all the parks have basically all become glorified billboards and even in Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland hasn't been coherent in years and Frontierland is being torn out for a Cars ad. Sadly that is why I am writing the articles in my signature pointing out how these parks have lost their way rather than trying to fix them from within as I originally planned which I could not do under Iger anyway though I have to admit winning an award for the Animal Kingdom one was nice and hearing from former Imagineer Trevor Bryant on the EPCOT one was also a highlight.

It was a dated show that had 5 mins of a tiny globe in the middle of it.

I mean ... that's kind of the point. It allows you to seamlessly transition between more traditional movement in narrow corridors and free movement in open spaces. If that doesn't feel natural within the context of the ride, it's a failure to design spaces and scenarios that make sense in conjunction with the complementary movement types.
Very fair... I just know on Remy and MMRR... I feel like I'm super aware I'm just in a big warehouse. ROTR does a lot better at this.
I’d argue the best dark ride tech is either the classic omnimover or the SCOOP and that it’s not particularly close.
I feel like the kuka arm is the next evolution of the omnimover personally (basically a 3D omnimover)
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a trackless, but not a true trackless, ride that doesn’t have big open floor spaces and is focused on its elevators. Fully tracked roller coasters like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure features switching to different tracks and a drop element. The big thing true trackless is really good for is not having to make a decision and commit to a ride path(s).
TOT isn't trackless AFAIK. I believe it's wire guided.

I’d like to collect LL$ for each time you bring this up.

We all know this, it’s not a new take. Please spare us seeing it over and over and over and over and over and over
I think in addition to our "scope cut" drinking game we also need a "Sell LL" drinking game ;)

But you have a point, we all know by now, Disneyparks is a business and their number one product, the "money for nothing" LL product is the absolute top priority to sell!

Maybe my repeatedly posting about LLs and scope cuts is my copium ;)

Which is why I said “trackless, but not true trackless”. Wire guided is considered as a type of trackless. It’s a technical difference but there’s really no experiential difference. Many people incorrectly assume Symbolica at Eftling is true trackless because it does all the true trackless gimmicks but it is in fact a much cheaper wire guided ride.

ROTR is blessed with a setting that's generally huge and open in the movies, so it gets around the problem.
Its also how they use the space. The only "big warehouse" rooms that I notice are the start "tell them its a prisoner transfer" which is fine as we are essentially moving from the load station to the actual attraction. The other is the AT-AT room which works. The design does a fairly good job of making it feel like the ride is supposed to go to certain areas but then diverted and ditching out into other areas. I do wish the fake elevator sequence did have some simulation to make it feel like you are moving to another level.

This actually something I was wondering when I wrote it a few days ago. What is actually happening here? We’re not actually going anywhere we’re just sitting in that room for the brief elevator simulation, I know that. But does it serve a purpose beyond the storytelling element? If not, I don’t think that’s a problem, but I was curious if it was something that was included maybe as a clever way to hold vehicles in place for timing or to put enough distance between the set of vehicles you were riding with and the one ahead of you behind you, etc.
