MK Cinderella Castle Set to Return to Classic Color Scheme

It would be nice if we would actually get some upgrades and not just a new paint job... The fountains in the moat would be a great new addition for the entertainment around the castle....They add so much to the DLP Castle....and I believe they were designed originally for the MK, but TDO turned them down.... (that is what I was told years ago anyway....)

Would love to see the fountains added in Orlando. Maybe they can prioritize the painting this year, and then add the fountains for the 60th in 2031 to mark the completion of Cars/Villiansland construction?

TDO has developed an allergy to fountains or at least to their maintenance. It'll be a cold day in Epcot before they add any

Looking at the Monstropolis construction and concept art, it seems that they'll keep the fountain there.

They added a fountain to the Ratatouille courtyard.

Tropical Americas concept art shows a new fountain.

As much as we all know that the Moana walk-thru isn't a *fountain,* it is a water feature. A significant one.

Water features seem like they'll be part of Piston Peak.

Camels still spit water at you.

It’s more an unwillingness to fix broken, old plumbing as in Adventureland. They’ll install new water features while gutting an area.

And where is the one between Casey's and CP? The hub moat?

They also redid and upgraded the fountains systems in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater for Fantasmic! Now they go higher than ever before.

Argument can be made that they didn't add the moving fountain heads like in DL's version, but we all saw how problematic they are and keep breaking over there..

Disney has added a new notice today for Cinderella Castle: Cinderella Castle is currently undergoing a magical transformation. Learn more about what's coming soon on the Disney Parks Blog.
If you consider simply restoring something to it's original appearance after a questionable change as a "Magical Transformation". I recall that there was a "Magical Transformation" back in 1998, too.

With a sign on it that literally says it's supposed to be a fountain despite it currently being a planter.
Do you mean “Fuente de la Fortuna?” This is 3 generations of my family there, 1976.

I wish they could put back the rivers of America as easily as repainting the castle.
I mean, we will kinda see that when they rebuild the water segment across the boardwalk area of frontierland and around to liberty square, adding in rockwork and waterfalls in the process. It's pretty clear from the artwork that most of the bit you can see of RoA is coming back.

Agreed.

I've said it countless times over the years, but I'd love to see trees in the centre of the hub again. Perhaps not as large as the ones installed in 1971, but something more akin to the ones at Disneyland.

In my opinion they helped entice the audience into the world of fantasy.

I remember when the Fuente De La Fortuna was a working fountain... Honestly that whole Pirates area could really use an upgrade... Make it much more of a Caribbean village... Add masts and saild just over that walls towars the Jungle Cruise...so it appears there are ships moored just over the wall...
I did this concept art for a marooned shipwreck facade, with waves crashing on rocks and the ship and the Spanish Fortress looming in the distance. I think it’d make for a super cool and intriguing entrance, plus the splashing could be a way to cool off in the heat!

That is great, and yes it would be a perfect fit for the area...When we were in Shanghai, we noticed the Pirates area was so fleshed-out They had a very similar entrance to the land, and the fort and village were much more elaborate...plus a whole lagoon of shipwrecks out front...and a gigantic theater with a Pirates show. THe MK could never fit all of that, but it could definitely be more of a Miniland with a much more immersive feel.
