2025 was an awful year

- The year of constant shut downs.

- The year they officially gave up on Animal Kingdom's theme.

- The year they officially killed Frontierland.

- Tiana's opened in 2024, but I think this year is when it sunk in that Disney gaves so little of a care they have no intentions of even giving the ride they killed Splash Mountain for proper maintenance. They put it on Disney Plus blatantly broken.

- The Summer of constant DJs and random pop music playing in inappropriate places.

- The year we got Zootopia: Better Zoogether. Then the only thing people agreed was good about it (animatronic) broke within two weeks.

- Asha's still here and taking up valuable space.

- Starlight debuted to thunderous "well that was okay"s. Then quickly started having issues.

- One step closer to drinking around the Magic Kingdom.

It's been so bad I think it's permanently changed how enthusiastic/tolerant I am for anything Disney related. I don't expect that enthusiasm to come back in 2026.

These are mostly accurate points...but...

...and I'm not shilling....
  • It seemed, between Dexpo 2024 (and the details they released the very next day (conveniently after everyone went home)), that 2025 WAS going to be "demo YEAR" for all the "shovels in the ground" projects they announced. And now we can say all the most significant demo's done. I will forever lament the departure of TSI/RoA...but it's done, and I genuinely think they went as fast as they could in the demo. They even postponed Dinosaur and (partial) RnR into 2026 (not necessarily out of the goodness of their hearts, but precious "capacity").
  • (Avatar debate aside)...it's TBD how "animally" all the changes will be...but I'm THRILLED Carnyland is gone forever (even if they replaced it with NOTHING).
  • Other than Country Bears, the facades, BTMRR, and (for now) the name, I agree Frontierland is forever dead. National Parks never felt "frontier-ish," to me, which is another reason why I think they'll "throw out" the name for something else (West-of-MississippiLand?) once Piston Peak opens (like they jettisoned, "Future World," "Critter Country," and "Bear Country" beforehand. I will forever miss Frontierland (and if you watch the 1956 featurette, it was nearly half the original Disneyland), but the original notion behind it has become only slightly less unPC than the mountain that shant be named. And (to be nice) I never, ever liked any "Western" TV shows or movies (except Paladin b/c at least he was not one-dimensional to me).
  • Refraining opinion on TBA until (if!) I ever ride it (TBA!). Also refraining on Starlight (but "it's OK" is all I ever saw/heard too)
  • DJ's can be OK in the right time/place (ie yesterday to try to tame the throngs of humanity). But I agree that the ambiance soundtracks are unsurpassable imo.
  • It seems they "rushed" Zoogether to sync w/"2"? 🤷‍♀️
  • I can't add to debate that was thoroughly hashed-out et nauseum on B&B thread.
  • 2025 wasn't ALL bad. TT 3.0 looks AMAZING, they announced some more (albeit not ideal) Tomorrowland love (CoP/Buzz) and castle restoration. I'll take what I can get.

Actually...I just realized something....MK went from "smoke any outside place you want" and ZERO booze. To "NO smoking ANYWHERE" and booze in multiple (so far) locations. A virtual 180 🤷‍♀️
My (Purple Heart) grandfather with my grandmother in the hub (he went all the time in the 1970's...and there's hardly a photo of him ANYWHERE/ANYTIME where he doesn't have his pipe. Almost made 90!

While I agree that there were many poor moves made by Disney in 2025, not everything was awful. If you only want to focus on that which was bad then so be it. I can take the bad with the good and realize I can't control what Dis does and still enjoy my trip back. There are many positive things to enjoy and look forward to in 2026..

losing core identities of 3 parks is certainly depressing. The Rivers of America, Muppet Courtyard, and Dinoland USA were not minor parts of the parks.

I wouldn’t put starlight on the list of negatives - it’s definitely a positive addition and a step in the right direction.

i don’t remember seeing misplaced DJ’s and that’s the type of thing I notice.

You could look at it that Muppet courtyard and dinorama replacements are not losing a core identity. Could possibly be an improvement.
Remains to be seen.

Muppets could end up being a move - but losing Dinoland is definitely losing a core identity of the park.

Will the park be “better” - that’s a different discussion.

I’m not entirely sure if I think DHS is better now vs. lights motors action days. I know I personally liked the park better back then. But I can also see the popularity of Toy Story land and Galaxies Edge.

Having watched lma on both continents, I really wasn't sad to see that disappear from the Florida park.
