I agree
Not talking about one day tickets
Waterpark passes
Multi day tickets (the majority sold) with the WP feature
Annual passes with the upsell
Even then, to include Park hopping specifically for the water parks you have to buy the "water parks and sports option" or " park hopper plus option". The park hopper by itself is not enough because only applies to the four theme parks.
There is no scenario in which the majority of people entering the water parks on a given day are guest who.have purchased a multi-day park ticket with either the "water park and Sports option" and or " Park Hopper plus option".
For me the original point I was making was that both water parks would typically be closed for 2 or 3 months out of the year pre covid. Which left about 5 or 6 months of the year with only one water park open.
Returning to that now would not be something I would qualify as a budget cut.
It would just be returning to the long standing status quo. There is not really demand for two water parks during the months in which they only have one of the two open.
Statements were made that they were only closed for 5 weeks each but I really cannot find any data supporting that.
Now I might hypothesize that back before blizzard Beach opened perhaps typhoon lagoon's annual refurbishment was only 5 weeks long when it was the only park. Once blizzard Beach opened each Park could now take a turn being closed for 2 to 3 months of the year while also have a water park option available year around.
What I would critique is not offering the new resort benefit when there is only one water park available.
It does seem counterintuitive for them to limit the brand new Resort admission benefit on day of check-in when there's only one water park open if their justification for having only one park open is lower demand.
