MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Well nobody would actually push for that. It’d just be moved closer. This is a diagram of the major creative ideas, not a facility impact drawing.

They’re digging a new river now to connect to remote ponds. This would be closer and could utilize more existing infrastructure. New facilities get their own back of house spaces so “old roads” are just fine at providing access.

This is just a complete distortion of the scope of work that is occurring and has been documented in this thread by permit drawings and photos.
1. Seems like it would be a little difficult to fit this on the island considering its already a little tight but sure, I was told however that OBVIOUSLY all these issues were figured out and I shouldn't question it because I'm not personally a theme park designer. That was my whole point, creatively I like this idea, if it could be done, I don't see why it shouldn't be. I was merely commenting on the logistics which now i'm being told were not factored heavily into this?

2. Yes but I'm sure you can see that this is a much smaller river and one that is not completely digging through what could be the power/water/etc lines of a major attraction that JUST went down for refurbishment.

3. Yeah I fully admit, that was more of a shortened way of saying it and this project WILL be complicated, just less complicated than digging all around a pre-established ride.

First - I’m sorry I wrote it in that way - I don’t like it when I’m told we can’t compare castle parks cause I can’t think of anything more comparable. So yeah… I get why you’d be annoyed if that’s how you took the reply.

I also didn’t get the “I like this idea” vibe from your post - I read it as being overly dismissive of why the current plan is better. That may have been partially my fault.

This photo update kinda shows me that the view from Splash is barely going to change.

Thats great! You can go to each Disney park and get a different experience. DLP has a shinier new ROA, Disneyland has the original ROA (editted but still there and active), and Disney World gets Villians Land. All unique in their own way. :)
It’s too bad they didn’t “edit” WDW’s RoA and then add Cars and Villains.

I presume some slide presentation created by an intern convinced management to erase WDWs RoA from existence, while keeping rivers in other parks.

Well then I apologize for how the post read off. I thought initially that it was a completely removed idea initially that "sounded nice on paper but was wildly impractical" If there is sincerely a way to keep something of the ROA, then sure I'd be happy with that as long as we got enough space for the new attractions.
However as a realist, I understand why Disney wasn't rushing to spend more money to keep the ROA around.
I have no "problem" with the ROA staying as long as the overall space can be better utilized, which I think right now it's not for how LARGE of a space it is.

easiest would have been just keep the small island and the short circle route for the boat. MK has plenty of options for expansion.

If cars had to occupy that space for some reason - could have loaded in between mansion and big thunder and had the cars rally go over a Bridge and the ride takes place on the smaller island.

Isn’t this for the thread lamenting the demise of RoA? I thought we were admonished to keep this one about construction of what’s actually happening.

I agree with you but it’s not gonna change anyone’s mind. Everyone wants the resorts to become more unique from one another until they do and then everyone wants them to have the same stuff.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing this develop across 2026. It’s felt slow so far, but they’ve done a lot nontheless. I’m excited to see stuff start taking shape.

I wondered about this view myself. However, looking at the “Fun Map” version of Piston Peak, I am wondering what part of this view might be blocked by the structure circled in red?

I am assuming that this is being place here specifically to block the the view of any of the cars driving around Piston Peak National Park.
