Trip Report 12 Days of Christmas!

Lords will be a leaping and maids will be milking. Well, perhaps not. But we are heading to Disney for 12 days!

When? Tomorrow! (Dec 17th)

Where? The original plan was 10 days at Boardwalk Villas. We have a 1 br villa with a Boardwalk view. We added 2 additional days to the front end of the trip at Wilderness Lodge so we now have 12 days total!

Who? In a shocking turn of events, C (my wife) has managed to stay healthy amd we have no kittens or pregnant momma cats to care for, so finally we will be taking a trip together!

We will also be joined by Baileys family! Bailey is the black Labrador service K9 I trained and have had 2 trips at WDW with.

Baileys family will be down for 8 days with us. They arrive a few days after us. It will be a party of 7 total with their children included.

But wait, theres more...Akira (one of our Malinios) will be with us as well.

That's 7 humans and 2 pups!

We've already got several dining reservations planned and a few Holliday festivities that ill share later.

Day 1 (wednesday) ctd

After a break at the room we headed to HS for a short visit

We rode Runaway Railway after ToT and then stopped in said hey to Mike at Baseline and a few beers. Didn't get any pics.

The park was getting ready for Jollywood Nights so we left a but early to beat the bus crowds.

C was pooped after a long day and hadnt slept much the night before so she headed up to the room and I grabbed a flatbread at Geyser Point and then back to the room for sleep!

Thursday

Since this was a trip of new beginnings we decided switching it up a heading to @Tuvalu s favorite park would be fun! This would definitely wind up being a good choice for which park to visit.

First srop was to get my AP magnets. C was a bit jealous as she isnt a passhsolder currently. I teased her that if she was she could join in the fun of magnets again. A few moments later, she was on her phone and this happened

She upgraded her ticket to an AP! I welcomed her back to the club and she got her magnets.

We celebrated with...coffee! She got a Starbucks and I wanted to try the coconut iced coffee at Kusafiri (however you spell it).

Expectation...

Reality

Although the picture may not do it Justice or match the image Disney has on the display, it was actually quite good. Ill definitely be getting another when we go back.

After coffee it was Safari time!

We like this "water" view since its far enough away from the pool to not hear all the noise

Next, in a slight breach of etiquette, C bypassed her room cleaning ritual and demanded we go to Geyser Point! I was flumoxeed as she is a clean freak and has always insisted on scrubbing the room down. Amd shes been doing this since pre covid. She was cleaning before it was cool.

I didnt argue with her amd we headed down to the bar!

She had one thing on her mind. Sje was channeling @Tuvalu and ordered the turkey sandwich

There was grits under the meatballs. It was very good.

The whiskey sour at Geyser Point has become a favorite of mine. C ordered a pilsner

With stuffed bellies we headed back to the room to clean amd freshen up

C has good taste. That sandwich is my favorite too.

Thursday ctd...

Our timing for the Safari could not have been better. The weather was cool and the animals were out!

The hippos were extremely active and walking around

As we drove over the alligator oit a woman held her child up in the air on the edge of the truck. The driver announced, "please DONT hold your child over the pit of alligators!" Quite a dangerous move by the mom.

We got stopped for almost 10 minutes when mama Giraffe (Kenya is believe) was blocking the road. It required the green trucks to come out and lure her away with treats. Our driver told us that shes learned that if she blocks the road, she'll will get treats.

The green truck approached and baby Tucker noticed amd started following the truck

They successfully lured mama away

It was a fun time as our driver told some fun behind the scenes stories as we waited.

I got a quick pic of the baby Elephant (Corra)

Our driver explained she wouldnt be able to stop much since we were so behind schedule.

And right after she said that, she announced there was another traffic jam ahead and this time it was the white rhinos!

They wasted not time in getting the treat trucks out

Another successful mission to get them out of the road!

C finally saw some active cheetahs!

There were two moving around amd it put the biggest smile on here face!

It was absolutely awesome safari experience and the road blocks actually made it better.

Wow, your safari experience sounds incredible!!! I love sunrises around Crescent Lake, and the Boardwalk is such a nice resort to enjoy that time of the day when all is still!

Thursday ctd

After the Safari we rode Everest.

I saw this shirt in the gift shop and thought its funny that Disney recognized sizes the "disco" yeti jokes and even monetized it lol

After EE, C asked if we could get a snack over at Restaurant A Saurus since it wont be there much longer. Sounded good to me!

We ordered the chicken tenders and truffle fries. These were no ordinary tenders tho!

They were breed with a cinnamon type flavor and served in a vanilla waffle cone. We sersiously liked these!

We had some LL's over in Pandora so we soaked in the restaurant and then headed out.

C's mom LOVED Pandora and I knew things might get emotional so I figured a drink would help, and it did.

We headed back to the room after Pandora.

We freshened up and rested then down Geyser Point to pre game.

Amd some lunch

C was kind enough to allow me a few bites

Thursday ctd..

C had a quest which would lead us to MK. Was it a specific attraction she wanted to ride? Nope.

Was it a tasty sweet treat? Yes!

Theres something about Disney gingerbread cookies she loves.

And since we were in the park, might as well get a few rides in. I had made some LL's so we wouldnt have to worry about long lines.

We are in the back row. And I always try and get the CM in the booth above the loading area to wave. Those are some sersious CMs as they usually dont even look down, but today she waved back! C just shook her head at me as she finds my endeavor silly. Deep down I think she likes it.

Our next LL was Peter Pan but as we entered Fantasyland from the Tangled restroom area we were turned away by a CM stating that it was party guests only but it was still 30 minutes prior to party time? Who knows.

We sadly walked away as we were excited to ride Pan. We figured it would be best to head out amd avoid a crowded boat ride when everyone left.

In a shocking twist of events, I went to Geyser Point for some dinner to bring back to the room. Akira joined me as C went to the room

We watched some Disney christmas shows with dinner and hit the sack!

Friday

We took the morning slow to pack up for our move over to Boardwalk Villas.

We loaded up the truck and dropped off our luggage at bell services and headed over to Epcot and wait for the room ready text.

We started off the day with some spiciness.

Spicy margaritas that is! From La Cava de Tequila. Spicy cucumber for C and spicy mango for me. Water for Akira.

C asked if we would see Living With the Land and all the Christmas decor. I knew it would be a fun ride for Akira too so we headed to The Land. We snagged a Molson from Canada on the way

We boarded our boat at LWtL and shortly after C had her foot resting on the ledge of the boat. She went to adjust her shoe as her ankle sock had slipped under her heel and as she was fidgeting with her sock, her shoe fell off into the water!!!

I didnt notice her messing with her shoe, I just notice an On Cloud sneaker float past the boat. I looked over and C just had the wildest expression of confusion and terror on her face. I looked down and noticed she only had one shoe on!

We watched as her sneaker floated waaaay past the boat. I couldn't help but laugh. C was still sitting there stunned. I told her we would have to buy some crops or flip flops when we exited.

Then we noticed something in the distance, about 15 feet ahead of us. It was her sneaker, and the boat was catching up to it! Fate was kind enough to keep the sneaker floating on her side of the boat and as we approached she reached over and snagged it!!

It was completely soaked but we had it back! We were both utterly shocked at the what transpired the last 2 minutes.

Akira enjoyed the sights and sounds

The stocking were hung by the window with care

We finished the ride and set out to find some flip flops for C. It was by far our most memorable ride on LWtL. Akiras first ride and a recovered sneaker that truly did Live with the land!

Friday ctd...

The only thing we could find fir footwear was Crocs amd she did not want them. We decided that trying one of the Resorts would have flip flops since there are pools. We went to Beach Club amd they had exactly what she wanted. I didnt get a Pic. Just some basic flip flops.

Amd since we were close to Ale and Compass Lounge....

I was rewarded #1 status for my idea to hit Ale and Compass and let the Couvasier amd whiskey soothe our anxiety form the sneaker fiasco

They still had the French onion flatbread and C wanted to try it.

And the truffle fries as well

Akira was doing her best not to drool everywhere

Goofy was in the lobby as we headed out

The room was ready so we headed over to BWV!

Friday

It was definitely the most interesting ride.We've experienced that living with the land

I thought perhaps it could damage the ride if the sneaker got caught in some mechanism, or maybe they would see it floating.And shut the ride down.And we'd be in trouble

Both of our brands were absolutely racing with different thoughts of what could happen lol

Friday ctd...

We got to our room and had the several luggage carts sent up. C packed up pretty the .uch the entire house lol

It really wasnt so bad, mostly decorations for the room. We cleaned the room and get everything set up.

She found a vintage Disney ornament set on Ebay.

After setting up and getting showers we headed back to where we checked out earlier, Wilderness Lodge.

We had drinks at Territory Lounge. C got th3 marshmallow old fashion. I played it safe and got a standard whiskey as to not risk ordering something that comes out in a martini glass but is burboun lol.

We e joyed our drinks until we got a text message...

Bailey and family had finally arrived!!!
