MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

These are from a permit that was filed in September and just approved last Friday Dec 12th

This first map is rain water storm sewers, the red lines are pipes, the red "bulls eye" dots a man hole covers. The zig-zag line through the center is most likely a walk way. Both are diverting rain water to the canal in the back, and by passing the canal to the west of Magic Kingdom, where the Electric Water Pageant barges are stored. I don't see what the purpose would be to keeping that Electric Water Pageant canal though.

This map second below is the Total Project Work Area. It seems like there might be a new "Villains Land Train Station" in the future in the top right area, given how large this addition is. This area is slightly larger in size to all of Fantsayland, New Fantsayland, and Storybook Circus combined, to give you some ide just how many attractions could fit in this new addition to Magic Kingdom

And this last map is the Total Work area, on top the "current" Google maps image of Magic Kingdom, plus the addition construction areas in gray. if they did some day get rid of the Electric Water Pageant Canal, that seems to me like another "Future Expansion Area" for Magic Kingdom

Thank you for sharing this informative (and relevant to the “construction” purpose of this thread!) material.

One note: As discussed earlier in this thread, the expert consensus seems to be that the northwest parts of the plot you identify in the quoted text/image above are for site prep work, while the actual Villains land will be in the smaller subsection “within the railroad tracks.” (Of course, if that’s wrong, I’d be ecstatic.)

Certainly my issue with it.
I am curious to see how this turns out, and I really hope they can pull it off.
I can't see how.... at all....but I'm genuinely hoping to be able to one day say:

"I'll forever miss TSI/RoA at least as much as I ever did/could...., but THIS was not only a worthy replacement, but also has allowed Disney to reclaim its crown as undisputed theme park champion...this is obviously, at least, as timeless as anything they've ever done before!)"

To be more specific....I'm 99% sure "Frontireland" will be a huge letdown, but I believe Villians has the potential (at least at this moment) to take things "to the next level" (I may be basing this on nothing but the fact that we know practically nothing) 😂

This implies that that pixie dusters are more common on here than the constant complaints lol
You're probably right-there are more Disney corporate fanboys/apologists than pixie dusters lol
A lot of them think just because people like things or see Disney's POV on something and agrees with it (maybe not completely, but still agrees with most) that they are pixie dusters lol.
Imagine the nerve of people liking things at Disney!
There is never a problem with liking something Disney does. The problem are the people that blindly love EVERYTHING Disney does and refuse to be objective about them, and passive-aggressively mock anyone who dares to disagree with Disney or have a differing opinion than them. And, I'd like to add that the people who blindly complain about everything Disney does, with no objectivity, are annoying, too.

and refuse to be objective about them, and passive-aggressively mock anyone who dares to disagree with Disney or have a differing opinion than them.
And therein lies the problem.

An overwhelming majority of Disney’s changes involve subjective preferences so objectivity doesn’t come into play.

Maybe I’m not understanding. Can you give an example of an objectively bad thing that Disney has done along with a comment blindly defending it or mocking others?

trying to remember which construction plans show what - is there anything that shows the railroad right of way itself is staying? Or just the boundary that was created by the railroad?

Meaning - do the plans indicate the railroad itself is staying where it was - or just that this expansion will not go past that boundary?

Many of the drawings in both water management permits show the railroad tracks, including the ones just posted.

The first permit specifically calls out “EXISTING RAILROAD TRACK (PROTECT & DO NOT DISTURB”. The photos show the track removed but this isn’t necessarily a conflict. The water management drawings are going to a specific contractor for a specific scope of work; the tracks themselves are not part of water management and could be a different scope of work. The drawings also show all of the grading along the right of way staying in place.

The second permit also shows the tracks. The big caveat is that these drawings are generally less up-to-date regarding the area within the tracks. They show Tom Sawyer Island and not the new grading being done as part of the first permit.

Because the tracks are not in and of themselves water management features, they are not part of this scope of work and do not need to be all that accurate. But the tracks do need to go somewhere an building a long bridge seems like an unlikely choice.

Thanks! I wasn’t even 100% sure if the tracks were part of the actual drawings or added by the posters to clarify where things are.
all this ongoing debate on the tracks tells me most believe they need to go "beyond" (one way or another) for this so-called "largest expansion in history" to have any chance at success.......again...just my perception...put the pitchforks down people.

Disney, the corporation, can't survive on the income generated by handfuls of "pixie dusters."

It is the tens of thousands of ordinary people who show up at Disney parks daily that keeps the lights on... and produces a $12B profit each year.

So-called Pixie Dusters weren't constantly haranguing Disney to remove the RoA or to create a Cars ride in its place. Look elsewhere for your scapegoat.

Keep your Pixie Dust Derangement Syndrome in check.
