DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

"You shouldn't judge based on terrible sounding premises alone, give them a chance!"

"Just because you think signs are pointing to a disappointment doesn't mean you should express your concerns; wait until the entire thing is done before saying anything."

"Sure it's open and has full videos online, but have you actually ridden it? Can't really form an opinion until you've ridden it."

"You're still upset about the new ride/old one being gone? It's been like a month and it's not going away/isn't coming back, get over it."

Repeat.

I also don't understand why people act like it would be some horrible thing if you said you thought the new ride was going to be bad but then it turned out good. I mean, okay, then I can change my opinion. It's not a big deal. Why should we not discuss beforehand? We're not literally betting on this stuff.
People can go back and look at my posts about TBA before it opened. I was so hoping it was going to be a home-run, because they needed a home-run on that ride.

Unfortunately, it was not.

Just out of curiosity, other than music, what categories does DL win in?
in addition to the music / sound effects - the way the line winds over and down to the load is a lovely and dramatic scene, the light tunnel is larger and more impressive, then the “launch” tunnel with effects vs. the old school nasa statues, the track is smoother.

I definitely prefer Californias space - when it’s the classic space and all effects are working it’s hard to beat!

Hard for this to be a downgrade, in my opinion. Aerosmith isn't exactly a relevant group anymore, and the theming of the coaster itself is just lit-up flats. A new piece of Muppet content is a good thing. And there will be animatronics in the pre-show.

I’m expecting a wash, we went on the “new” avengers coaster in Paris and it was basically the same ride with a different story, different lit up flats, and different music.

Not much you can do with this type of ride beyond change what you walk past in the queue and then change what you zip past at 50mph.

Personally I think the Muppets theme is an upgrade but don’t expect to be wowed by any of the changes, it’ll be the same fun coaster it was before, just with a different setting.

The avengers coaster in Paris was an entirely different experience, in my opinion - if you don’t have the track memorized (like we all do on this forum) you would never know it’s the same.

The muppets are a retheme - it’s still “rock n roller coaster” you will still see the recording studio and board a limo ride through Hollywood.

We only went on it once and all I remember is zipping past red streaks that were Ironman and Marvel. Kind of reminded me of HyperSpace Mtn in DL where you catch glimpses of ships but you go by them so fast it’s just a glimpse. If we went a few more times and knew where to focus maybe we’d see more but with a thrill ride like that it’s typically a one and done for us. I expect the same to be true in HS, projections instead of flat set pieces but since we only go once every couple years, and won’t know where to focus, I expect streaks as we zip past more than a comprehensive storyline.

Same! Magic Journeys lives within us all and will not leave! Haha

But yes I’m talking about Wondrous Journeys the fireworks show.
It doesn't help that most of the names of most of the fireworks shows and parades in the history of the Disney Parks are usually just a combination of buzzwords, most of which probably have a corresponding ship in the DCL fleet.

Xpress Platform 13 at Walibi Holland is the outdoor version and same layout of Both RnRc...

I mean pretty much every single one that isn't about the queue.

It rides better. It feels faster. The hills in particular have much more of a pop to them (if you don't staple yourself you get little pops of airtime whereas in Magic Kingdom you rarely do). The two across vehicles are way, way more comfortable. The pacing of the actual coaster is way better (especially the pre-lift stuff), and lets you feel like you're really going for way longer. It's load and unload rhythm is smoother. It feels more whippy and fun, not like it's trying to crush you in half. It's exterior building looks fresher.

There's just no contest. Tokyo's was by most accounts the worst Space in the world in terms of ride experience by the end of it's life, but seeing as it has been torn down, that title's now gotta go to Magic Kingdom.

I strongly disagree, DL does a better job of selling the theme, but judging it strictly as a coaster MK is better. DL’s ride is forceless and repeats itself constantly (small dip, turn right, gradual ramp up, break run, repeat.) MK is less predictable, has some airtime and more positive Gs, it was more pronounced before the structure saving trims were put in on the 2000s but it’s still there.

I have seen on Bioreconstruct's photos that the Pizza Rizzo signs were still up..Does anyone think something planned or just another food truck for the plaza?

I could see the pizza Rizzo sign over in the corner by the food stand in the courtyard - maybe they will rebuild that food stand to be a walk up pizza place?

Of course…. That area of the park could use an indoor counter service

It definitely seems odd, when the rest of the lands theming had been removed. I'm sure Disney is aware of the cult following pizzarizzo has
Yeah, here's the pic that I had forgot to bring up..

You can clearly see both big signs and the beer/pizza ones still intact... Apparently, Gonzo's signs are still up as well...
