Nope. Apparently a lot of the patterns you find for free now are AI generated and not always accurate. They'll have things that are impossible to do, or that look really wonky, etc. E will usually find a basic pattern and then tweak it to fit her needs. She made her own for one of those reversable octopus pillows, if you've ever seen those. She couldn't find a pattern for free or something, so she just did something and it worked.
I've seen these patterns on facebook that are odd looking and seem very hard to do. There seems to be a glut of them lately. I thought something might be "off" about them.

Those are lovely!!! Wouldn't be Mayo-Roscommon hospice, would it?

What a kind and generous effort. 💓
Thank you, its St Francis hospice in Dublin but I think sunflowers are the logo for the Irish Hospice Foundation in general.

I'm actually dropping some Christmas treats to them this morning.

I knit some baubles and filled them with Terry's Chocolate Oranges

I also bought clear plastic baubles and filled them with chocolates.20251205_070943.jpg20251205_070906.jpg
And ny daughter made these ornaments by wrapping coloured string around cardboard trees! I think these turned out really cute!

Wow! What a thoughtful, creative, and festive variety of homemade gifts that you and your daughter are donating to charity. If that's not the true meaning of goodwill towards men and women at Christmas, I don't know what is. 🥰

In the Netherlands, it is "gift evening" which is when Sinterklaas (St. Nicolas) brings presents to all the children. There's an organization that collects donations for children living in poverty. They put bags in stores for people to bring toys to donate, and then they have a kind of store set up where people can go and the child can pick out 2 presents. I went and got some toys and books, but E and I also made some jewelry to donate, and then I was having so much fun making it that I also made some stuff for myself. These are the ones we donated. The last 2 are the ones E made. She didn't have as much time because she had labs for University and has been out the door every morning at 6am and not home until 7pm, and then she had to do some prep stuff for the next day's lab. She finished her last lab today. But she desperately needs a break.

Anyhoo:

And then these are the other things I made. I would have made more to donate, but it was too late.. Might have to make more next year.

I'm supposed to get some leopard charms so I can make those, and maybe some butterflies, but those things haven't come in yet.

And yes, these are super tacky, but they are fun. I made them in all different colors and we might be using them Sunday for some choir performances, but I'm not sure. If not, I've got stuff to wear with whatever outfit I'm wearing. I have a red Christmas sweater that my MIL hates, because she says no Dutch person would be caught dead wearing a Christmas sweater...joke is on her, because they've become really popular in the last few years here and EVERYONE is wearing them. So I wear mine just because I find it amusing, and I wear the tacky earrings with it, because I'm sure she hates them, too.

Aw thanks! It really isn't a huge deal. They don't take long to make and it's fun!! We enjoy it. I would love to be able to buy tons of toys and books and things, but until I win millions in the lottery, that isn't going to happen. But I can buy a few and make a few things. I hope they got a lot of donations!! The bag we had in the store where I work was pretty much empty except for the things I donated, and the store donated a few wooden cars. I don't think there was anything in there besides those cars and my donations. But our store isn't in the main street, and we mostly sell baby stuff....clothes, teething rings, strollers, car seats...not really much for older kids to play with. I hope the stores in the main street got more donations!

Thank you so much for doing this! I probably don't have to tell you but it means a lot to people who receive them.
