Star Wars is being re-released for its 50th anniversary in 2027. Not A New Hope, just Star Wars in its Han shooting first glory.
See this in a theater that has small, threadbare, hard seats that don't recline and are at best 1% higher than the seat in front of you. Make sure whoever is sitting in front of you is smoking. Make sure the projector is loud and the film is heavily scratched and the audio pops. And make sure the floors are sticky in a way that the term "Sticky-floor" takes on whole new meaning.

It's great they're restoring and releasing the original Star Wars.

That movie is part of our collective culture. There's no reason it can't exist alongside George's version.

They should also release an official version of the fan made Despecialized Edition, which keeps the effects that were cleaned up but none of the content changes. Things like removing visible boxes around the ships that were composited into the film.

Look at Star Wars Outlaws and how that turned around on the Switch 2 when there wasn't a fog of pure hate around it.
I don't know. I never played it. I heard the gameplay was pretty bad. I'll add it to my steam wish and pick it up for $5. I still need to finish Jedi Fallen Order.

But do you think this movie will be worth all that?

This is the late 70's after all. We haven't had a decent sci-fi flick since 2001: A Space Odyssey was released almost a decade ago.

I bet this will be yet another flop.
What type of lame title is "Star Wars" anyway?

I'd elaborate further, but it's a Saturday night. I'm off to the roller skating rink.

I still reiterate my thoughts after I saw TFA. They nailed it with the casting and Rey. She and the character then got severely let down by the following films.

I think they could do something good with Rey, but I don't have faith the current regime does because they don't see capable of understanding how they went wrong.
But space horses galloping on a Star Destroyer.... wasn't that stunning enough ? 'Native aboriginals pure of heart' vs all the bad people ?

New Star Wars game from the director of what is considered one of the best Star Wars video games ever made.

No doubt a long ways away, but still great news.

The brand-new epic narrative single-player action role-playing game from Arcanaut Studios, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games was announced on stage tonight at this year’s Game Awards. Along with the first look at a thrilling trailer, it was announced that Fate of the Old Republic will be developed by a new studio launched by Casey Hudson, the director of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy.
