Why do people in Star Wars always park ten miles away from their destination?

As a casual Star Wars viewer who saw the first 2 sequels and walked out of the second one during the horse/casino scene, I don’t think anything was wrong with the main 3 characters or actors.

The plot/writing was just so bad.

I would absolutely watch a Rey series done by the Andor team, for instance.

Yes, the character was a Mary Sue, but that’s not the actor's fault. That was bad screenwriting and directing. A good writer could redeem any character.

Yes. I'd love anything from this team. I know Gilroy might be out for more SW but whoever else worked on Andor needs to be given a chance to do more SW projects like that.

We could have met up in the parking lot

The concept was DOA

Possible

Hey Daisy is working… she has a new Zombie Apocalypse movie called We Bury The Dead…. Looks pretty good… currently at 91%…. Will be released just after the new year
Yeah I wish her well in other jobs

But the Star Wars well is poisoned for her. That’s not her fault…but still the reality

I do find it ironic that abc is plugging Ridley in Star Wars…they’ve been careful not to highlight the franchise crash over the last few years as damage control.

So why now? Desperation?

If it’s a theatrical project…it will bomb. That’s a lock

If its a series…it will land somewhere around obi wan…

Maybe they “split it” and do a feature length straight to stream?

None of us know what a Daisy Ridley movie will do… The only out right theatrical Star Wars flop was Solo…. But that was because of it’s own issues that had nothing to do with the Sequel trilogy

My niece and Nephew favorite Star Wars is the sequel trilogy…. There was a time when people thought Hayden’s Anakin would never return

Also we have no idea in what capacity Daisy Ridley will make an appearance….for all we know…. Rey will simply make an appearance in Starfighter

…yeah…the diminishing returns are the giveaway

I’m not using “poisoned well” flippantly.

Need a good example? MCU is an obvious one of of late…it’s not the individual movies…it’s the narrative that the franchise is in collapse that does the damage

How old are your niece and nephew?

Prolly near where the prequel fanbase was at that time. And as you said the opinion has softened…but I think there’s a very good case as to why?

it could fail but it also might not…the box office is unpredictable l…. Who would of figured a Minecraft movie would be one biggest hits while Megan 2.0 would be one of the biggest Flops if 3025

Yeah my niece and nephew are 14 and 10 and Hayden was still terrible in the prequels

I joked earlier with the Jar Jar reference, but in all seriousness, I think you're spot-on with this.

Even characters fans like to dump on heavily (Rose Tico, for instance).
Her character wasn't the problem.
Casting wasn't the problem.

It was how silly the story writers made her such a side-quest pawn to pretty much a throwaway. That's what people disliked.
Not to mention her short PSA on saving space horses. :banghead::banghead:
