How is it that Dollywood can open Nightflight Expedition, a ride that is infinitely more creative, innovative, and exciting than PP in the same time that Disney takes to drain the former ROA?

Rhetorical questions of course. We all know why.
taking this drift a bit further... My wife and I just got back from Dollywood. We attended the media event yesterday. The ride looks to be amazing.

Now, while I can support the argument that this new attraction is more creative than some recent new Disney rides, Dollywood had an empty field to work in (way above any water table), and it is a completely enclosed ride. To me, it looks like it has taken a very long time for them to get this far... Disney-like slow. I could not even notice a difference between our July 7 visit and yesterday.

BTW, it is interesting to be a fan of both parks, and see other fans have the same types of arguments. Most recently, announced changes to the Dollywood season passes are causing an uproar and people claiming they are never going back or can no longer afford the Dollywood passes and will buy WDW passes instead, as the WDW passes are a better value. I just have to shake my head... my 2025 Diamond pass was only $331 (with my veteran discount).

Because Disney can work at any pace they want as the MK is, and will be, the most visited park on earth no matter what the offerings are there.

When also considering the recent, rapid demos at HS & AK, it seems they have been staging things the last 2+ months to have demolition occur as quickly, and with as little attention drawn to it, as possible. I'm hoping that's the case (of course I'd rather it not happen at all, but I realize that "steam"ship has sailed!)

Didn't they redo some of them when Tron was under construction?
The entire track was redone pretty recently - but of course so was the Liberty Belles boiler. I don’t remember the exact time for the tracks - but either when tron was built or since then yes.

For those who say “Disney is a business” it sure seems like bad business to rebuild things at considerable expense for them to be torn down before they near the end of the life cycle.

The track from Fantasyland Station and Mains Street was rerouted for Tron back in 2019, but not sure how much of the rest of the track was retracked at the same time. I'm just hoping this is another rerouting so either Villains Land's border won't be constrained by the current train route or so they don't have to work around the track when building the land

The water management drawings show no changes to the grading and the route.

It’s because departments apparently don’t talk to each other. They just redid the seats for Muppetvision and added projection mapping effects.

While this sounds ridiculous at first, but it also helps ensure things aren’t just left to rot. Lots of ideas are kicked around. Telling FAM not to work on something because it might, maybe not be around for a while would mean they’re not doing work based on why the parks need in the more immediate future.

It’s all in the eyes of the beholder. I’m sure(well hope at least) there’s a line where asset management checks with constructing and planning before spending major money. What’s the definition of major, who knows. What might look ridiculous for us might not ever raise eyebrows with ops or finance of a multibillion dollar company.
