I paid to get into the MK and see the entertainment. The goodies are extra for me, any other ticket doesn’t include any food except for DAH which is only 6 hours and much more expensive. They aren't free.

Of course it is. Do you think people don't know this? It's paid for in the ticket price...but that is why marketing works on so many people.
Anyone remember the original after hours events, E-Ride Nights? A whole $20 got you into MK with minimal lines!I paid to get into the MK and see the entertainment. The goodies are extra for me, any other ticket doesn’t include any food except for DAH which is only 6 hours and much more expensive.
$20, the original E-Ticket Express was $10!Anyone remember the original after hours events, E-Ride Nights? A whole $20 got you into MK with minimal lines!
So crazy that Disney has conditioned guests to accept the prices of today.
Funny how that works...when that ticket is *cheaper* than the one where food is "included".I hear over at Universal, after paying the full prices of an entry ticket, they actually make you *pay extra* just to eat any of the food they provide!!
Welcome to supply and demand, one is actually lower crowds and the other is stuffing in so many people that you’re forced to buy an express pass to get through the haunted houses (employees are being told to go for a 200 express pass guest to 20 regular guest ratio)Funny how that works...when that ticket is *cheaper* than the one where food is "included".![]()
I am old too. And did the $10 E-Ticket many times. I believe at one point it then went to a whole $12!!$20, the original E-Ticket Express was $10!
We were able to attend one of the very first of these on Aug 28, 1997. I only know the date because when I went into the RADP archives I found Deb Wills' original FAQ and DH (then fiance) responded to her with our experience.
Yes, I am old.
idk if it’s so much that they “conditioned” it but rather the prices of everything went up especially entertainment + the rise of the Disney fandom growing to crazy amounts. I mean in the internet fandom age, fandom culture means that people are more than okay with splurging for a once a year or once in a lifetime trip. These events sell out already at $100. They would be gone in SECONDS for $20. Thats almost the price of a movie ticket in my city.. even if they kept up with similar offerings, the price would be so crazy low that it would be gone before most people got the chance to click the buy buttonAnyone remember the original after hours events, E-Ride Nights? A whole $20 got you into MK with minimal lines!

Continuing to sell hard ticket events out at higher and higher price points with little investment or improvements year-over-year. Bob and Josh sez:
