DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Well I guess.... But for me and my group, DHS is definitely still a half day park. We have been done with the decades-old shows, we would never attend the Cartoon shorts or sing along things.... I was bored with Midway Mania and the other two Toy Story attractions... We like TOT, RNRC (Though we have not been on it in years due to the ridiculous lines) Millenium Falcon we have done enough to know we don't want to do it again.... Rise is a great ride....So pretty much, for us, it's a few rides, lunch, then back to the hotel for pool and cocktails.....Which is pretty much the same for Animal Kingdom....
EPCOT is quickly becoming the same...
Could it be that you are suffering from WDW fatigue and need a change?

If you plan to experience literally every single thing the park offers then it's not a half day park, but neither is DAK using that criteria.

Most people aren't going to be interested in everything at DHS (or at any park). I personally find DHS the weakest overall park at WDW and it's not even really close. Galaxy's Edge definitely helped (not as much as it should considering Smuggler's Run is mediocre), but it wasn't nearly enough to fix the park.

Too many D/E tickets open till 9 pm make it a sustainable “all day park”. Mix in the shows and it’s easily a full day park. There is a reason why it has F! anchoring it the end of the day and the need for longer hours at DHS, even if it’s not your thing.

Animal Kingdom isn’t half day park but too many things close before 5 pm, which makes it a non-factor for any valued nighttime touring.

I agree that DAK is held back due to the animal attractions that close early. Disney will have no excuse to continue closing the park at 6 or 7 once Tropical Americas is open, though. They need to have a night time show running by then, especially since much of the park looks fantastic at night.

As for DHS, while there's obviously subjectivity to it, it's basically impossible for us spend a full day there. We always end up leaving by mid-afternoon if we were there in the morning or we don't go until mid-late afternoon.

From the "Dinosaur has seen better days" thread:

Makes sense given it was heavily rumored Dinosaur would bite the dust a year after DinoRama, and that closed on January 16th.

If that's the case (give or take), then we probably are going to get an announcement of when Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus is closing within the next few weeks or month or two. Hopefully when get the announcement Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus closing, we can get some news and maybe even a new concept art or two for both the Encanto and Indiana Jones as we do need more "specific" story reveals for both.

I’m guessing you’ve never seen the movie because there is a whole scene that takes place in a nudist sanctuary, the joke being that we see animals naked all the time. But the movie is not straight up animals for humans. The world and history that was created goes out of its way to explain these animals have evolved from their primitive forms, and the rural and city areas are all created to accommodate the different animals, not humans.
Riiiiiight. Sure. Keep telling yourself that. The reality is they are humans dressed up as animals. (And I said picture JUDY naked, which she never is)

It was nice in the Boneyard tonight. A noticeable number of adult fans in shirts were hanging around taking it all in and some cast members were hanging out on the bridge waving good bye.

I am linking my post detailing some of the details in the Boneyard because while I think all of Dinoland goes underappreciated, Boneyard might be the biggest example due to being a child-focused attraction, and I want as many people as possible to know that it was an incredibly well put together area full of world building and cool dinosaur skeletons, and as an adult I even learned some things in a unique, humourous way.

Here are some pictures I have taken since then:

(Notice the scrapes in the rockwork like it was actually scraped out of there.)

I'm putting these under a seperate spoiler because they aren't impressive to look at but they really emphasize Dinoland's "put stuff everywhere" philosophy: they "carved" stuff into one of the picnic tables like bored college students:

The Boneyard is also a linchpin for the story of Dinoland, so now it's kind of like Harambe Village without the animals.

And the Boneyard is now permanently closed as of today!

"In Digg's County we say extinction is forever but so are the memories" hit me hard. That was beautiful.

I would like to think at least one little paleontologist found his/her passion in there.

I’m glad that I experienced the boneyard for the last time last Christmas so that my last memory of it will have it at its finest.

Boneyard has been taken off the map already. Strangely so has the page for Dino Land USA as a whole. DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still searchable but the land is not

Good grief, you literally are going to just walk down a wall corridor to get to Dinosaur.

I'd ask what happened to Show, but I guess it's pointless to ask in the park with the Disco Yeti and Muppet Carnotaurous.

I have only one Boneyard memory I can recall. When I was very young, I was playing in the Boneyard when a snake was on the loose. The snake got into the playground and all I remember doing was running extremely far away from the entrance as I could with my parents in toe. That is what I remember and honestly, don’t recall going in their after that encounter.

Good bye Boneyard, and hello Tropical Americas. While a cool theme, the only connection I have to Dinoland is Dinosaur itself. I’m excited for the overall changes, to Disney’s worst land in my opinion.

Man those neon paint jobs look so bad on CTX's dinosaurs. Like legitimately they are so distracting to me. Why is it glowing orange?

Alas though, I always enjoyed Dinosaur. I think it has been criticized way too much for not being IJA.
