DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

That was my concern with Cosmic Rewind from go but then I remembered that it's so sparsely themed that if something should happen it could be rethemed to a different IP with relative ease.
I wouldn't say sparsely themed but if they could they could easily just make it a Big Bang coaster or a Fantastic 4 (if they were able to)

And then some major scandal happens and this whole cycle repeats. Much smarter to use the muppets especially if they “team up” with other artists that can be easily switched in and out
So the IP that couldn’t keep another attraction vibrant and popular is a better fit than the most popular musician in decades who may or may not have a “major scandal” in the future?

Are there any Muppet recasts that you guys actually DO like?
Off the top of my head -
  • Bill Baretta's Rowlf, Teeth, Chef
  • John Henson/Matt Vogel's Sweetums
  • Peter Linz's Statler. It's nice to hear at least one of the old cranks sound like themselves again
  • Eric Jacobson's Fozzie 99% of the time.
  • Matt Vogel's Uncle Deadly.

To be honest, the only "modern" Muppet voice I'm not a huge fan of is David Rudman as Janice. I understand why he's Janice ('cause he and Richard Hunt were close friends), but I dunno, I just find something off about it. I do like his Scooter, though.

There have been some pretty bad Muppet recasts over the years, but they usually only did the characters once or twice... Artie Esposito as Kermit, Kevin Clash as Sam the Eagle, Brian Henson as Scooter and Janice...
Yes - Steve as Kermit.
No argument there!
Peter Linz's Statler
I'm glad he got to take over as Statler, Lips, and Link Hogthrob. I've always been a big fan of Peter's and it's great to see him get more roles.
Why they didn't have him take over Kermit will always baffle me
Apparently, Peter aid in an interview that the reason they didn't have him take over as Kermit is because at the time he and the other puppeteers didn't think he was a strong enough puppeteer to lead the Muppets. I'm not sure I agree.

Most of the Muppet recasts have been fine with me. Vogel's the odd one out that I'm still not used to at all.

Taylor Swift is one of the most milquetoast artists ever in terms of potential controversy. If any "controversy" happens, it'll be a controversy that Disney or whoever their CEO is at the time is even more guilty of already.

As a Henson nerd, I do prefer they add a "new" Muppets attraction (though it shouldn't have been at the cost of MV3D), don't get me wrong. But Swift would've been very safe and honestly a better choice both short and long term. The bigger problem with Swift is only a handful of her songs work for a roller coaster, and of the ones that are well known, it's basically only "Shake It Off", top of my head.

So Universal did the wristband system for the last rides of Rip Ride Rockit last night, so there's no reason for Disney not to do wristbands for Rock n' Rollercoaster.
