MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

For the parade - they could have to dry and re-test each float, perhaps the lightning delayed them being able to stage the floats and props…. Lots of possibilities.

For all the faults of Disney - the ability to operate in all kinds of weather is still very impressive. Most parks would simply cancel and send everyone home.

Thanks. I expected it to be cancelled when they finally started. I didn't know how late they could delay because of the schedule. Sounds like they just delay the fireworks and cancel the second parade if it goes too late. Good to know.

I don’t disagree sadly. As fans knowing what exists in Tokyo is not such a good thing. The vast majority of WDW guests do not know, or care, so that’s one of the reasons why we get what we get, well plus the biggest reason of all is budget.

Saw Starlight for the first time last night. While I had seen some images of the floats, I hadn't watched any video or heard any clips of the music so went in about as cold as possible

Watched from Main St, sitting in the curb, so up close

Overall I loved it. The floats are really amazing and loved when they would have their "Magic moment" and change from colored into the white (thought this was really effective with the Wish float). Loved the music though not sure it will stick with me as long as like the Happily Ever After theme - but does feel like an evolution to the Main St Electrical parade

One critique is similar to what I have seen here and elsewhere that it would benefit from more performers between the floats and characters.

I liked the dancers - being close could really see the lights in the outfits that would change color and "dance" a bit - really felt like stars/constellations - but need more of them.

And Tinkerbell being on the ground in front of the float, engaging with the crowd, etc was really great - but again, need more

Another 8-12 dances and 6-8 characters would go a long way.

But overall a great addition and the 1-2 punch of the parade right into Happily Ever After is a great way to end a night at MK

I actually do have hope they might go in and fix these problems with the performers. Mainly since nighttime parades are very popular and almost everyone who sees this parade has the same complaint. And it's relatively easy to fix. I think simply adding more lights to the Moana and Royal Court dancers would go a long way. And giving the Encanto and Frozen performers actual costumes with real choreography. I think if you just did that it would improve the show greatly. Then I would give Coco skeleton dancers for that unit. I would also add Tinks pixie friends to accompany her and interact with the crowd and just more ground characters in general. If you do those things I think this parade goes from what I think is a 7.5/10 to a 8.5/10 and I think it only needs a another couple units to be a 10/10.

It appears as though parade times have been published through to September 18th - 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm on non-party nights. This is interesting, as MK is due to close at 10:00 pm starting August 31st.

Is this an indicator that they will extend MK hours to 11:00pm for September?

At least sitting up close I thought the dancer costumes were quite nice - made it seem like dancing constellations, etc

The one I didn't quite get was the Moana fabrics with no lights on them

Reminder:

When it comes to putting in times for live shows, Disney often fails to update the times in a timely manner. And so it seems that live entertainment will be no more. Then people on the forums panic that "there's no fireworks in January!!!"

Similarly with closing times. Which often change just weeks before the actual date.

It's not good, and Disney should do better.

But... Why are people surprised year after year when Disney does this year after year?
