Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

The pace they are going at I wouldn't be surprised if a summer 2027 opening is what they are aiming for. Maybe even a winter 2026 opening to coincide with Doomday opening may not even be out of the question.

With Coco starting later this fall and the ground work for Avatar next spring, we're going to have back-to-back-to-back openings coming pretty quick.

It’s a good time to be a DLR fan.

It is exciting and sounds great on paper but based on recent projects I’m going to temper my expectations on the quality of these new attractions. I’m growing tired of being disappointed. Hopefully this truly is the start of a great new era for imagineering and we can forget about the last weird 5 years.

Well you know my stance on expectations, always keep them in check and go in with an open mind. But still doesn't mean we can't be excited for the projects and the fast paced progress they are making here. Its a nice change after the slow progress we've had over the last couple projects.

Well when its comes to Infinity Defense my expectations are low so I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't meet or surpass them.

I wouldn't say mine are "low", but I am keeping them in check.

For me as long as its not a motion simulator its a win in my book, so I think my expectations are fine. ;)

I really think it's gonna be a Transformers or Spider-Man like scoop ride...
Yes I was being sarcastic when I said “not a motion simulator”. It’s because as I get older motion simulators and me don’t get along, ST and MF are now a no for me each trip.

But I think it’s pretty much confirmed to be a trackless “scoop” ride like Peter Pan from TDL.

The attractions will be "fine" I think. But by continuing the generic, pristine contemporary office park aesthetic (complete with sunny Southern California planters outside...sheesh), I think the land will continue to feel empty and soulless -- for lack of a better term. What it needs is something fantastical (we're talking comic books!). Something like a crashed alien ship that's ruptured the concrete and is smoking (mist) like it just impacted moments before you walked into the land...something that feels active and cinematic.

I've always been fascinated by the Best Products stores done by architect firm SITE in the 1970s. These were band new buildings! Imagine what kind of cinematic "last 15 minutes of a Marvel movie" feeling they could have created in Avenger's Campus.

I'm stoked for a Disney scoop ride as long as it includes some freakin' animatronics. And not just a giant Thanos head.
