Anyone know what that massive chunk of the hill they took out will be used for? I heard possibly the new tram tour area.

Also USH has gotten so much better over the last couple years with NintendoLand, SLOP and FnF Coaster being built, its actually not a bad park anymore imo

The rumor is there will be a new Tram Depo area but I don't know if this is part of it. They are suppose to be moving the Tram so theme park expansion can happen in the lake/FF Supercharge area. Again just rumors and speculation.

Per multiple TMs it's just a retaining wall being rebuilt. In photos from late 2023 you can see they tried to add extra supports for the old one before biting the bullet and rebuilding the whole thing.
Very unlikely it becomes tram loading as it's a dead end with no space to turn trams around.

FWIW Pokemon is the prevailing rumor to replace Spider-Man in Osaka, so it could be a retheme of that system.

That's exactly what I was thinking... Pan TDS, Spiderman, Transformers...

Not what USH needs IMO. Give me a family coaster, drop tower, more traditional dark ride, indoor boat ride. Anything other than the above for USH. I wish WDI and Universal Creative would make the ride system the starting point as opposed to the IP. Choose the ride system the park needs then pick the appropriate IP/ Story to fit with it.

Fun local news over here in Florida! This ride is my favorite at Epic—I contributed at least 40 ride-throughs to that total. 😃

So are they going to build this at USH? Universal is up to something in Hollywood. I’m expecting some kind of announcement soon. Maybe around Destination D?
This ride—or at least an adaptation of it—would be fantastic at USH. It’s become the MVP of Epic; In addition to being a great ride, it’s also been super-reliable and a huge crowd-eater. No matter how crowded Epic gets, one can always count on a fast-moving line at Monsters.

Does USH need two arm based rides? It already has Forbidden Journey.

Would love a Monsters ride at USH but think they would need to change the ride system. Considering the cash cow that is Potter and the fact that MoM is more unique to USH I would imagine if any of the Epic heavy hitters were to come to USH it would be MoM. But you could argue that either is not a perfect fit for the park. You know what is? Hagrids. Haha. Well except for the fact that I’m not sure you could have that kind of outdoor coaster anywhere on the lower lot near all the soundstages.

Monsters is such a great ride AND a people-eating crowd pleaser that I’d say absolutely. Also, the motion-sickness factor of FJ is practically a complete non-issue on Monsters, making it do-able and re-rideable for more guests.

Just as DL uses the same ride systems on multiple attractions, I think USH guests wouldn’t object to 2 arm-based dark rides because of how different the two experiences are, despite Studios having fewer attractions, making the similar hardware more apparent. I think the main reaction of USH guests to Monsters would be “That was fantastic, and I didn’t get motion sick!” 😃

You litterally have one already, it’s called Jurassic World:The Ride. Same basic technology, same ride type (Shoot the Chutes.)

The park needs more indoor dark rides that move you physically through space. An indoor boat ride would fit the bill but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a boat ride.

I think you mention it right there. The fewer attractions at USH make similar hardware more apparent. In addition to the fact that the two lands would share a similar aesthetic which I guess could be remedied somewhat with some tweaks and by strategically placing them in different areas of the park

I'm glad Monsters doesn't make people motion sick. FJ made my wife run for the restrooms to barf after riding that. She loved the queue but couldn't take the ride. Maybe Monsters can be on the backlot where the F&F 3d movie is/was.

That’s a good compromise but does that then cost us a full blown Monsters land? Ideally USH would get a unique Monsters land and attraction but that’s probably far fetched.

The monster movies where made at Hollywood. It should have a dedicated are just for them. It's bad enough that Mario took over the spot where the Phantom of the Opera sound stage was for hundred years.

That awful. Universal needs to respect their history more. For example E.T should have never been removed. I don’t blame Spielberg for being upset. People can’t build nostalgia for your parks if a ride can’t even last 15-20 years? I mean I understand the space constraints but I think they can do better.

They destroyed the original Orca boat at Jaws due to water damage. When Spielberg found out he raised hell.
The Phantom set caught on fire due to a welding torch. The set was taking up space for better things so they let it burn instead of trying to save pieces of it.

Another place Monsters could go is behind Transformers where the old 80's Special Effects sound stage was. They could use the Frankenstein sound stage too. Both are used for Halloween Horror Nights mazes.

I thought they used the Special Effects stage for Transformers? It’s still there?
