Well this is quite a change, Pop Warner is not having their championships in Orlando this year. Apparently it has been moved to Charlotte, North Carolina!! See here for more info from an internet search:
The 2025 Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, from December 6-13, 2025, according to Pop Warner-Youth Football. The Cheer & Dance Nationals will take place from December 8-11 at the Charlotte Convention Center, according to Pop Warner-Youth Football. The Super Bowl games will be held at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews.
I hope this is helpful!! Marie

Exactly. My industry used to hold conventions at Disney owned convention centers. Disputes about costs during/after Covid drove them away for good to other Orlando properties.

One of KK's Other agents was commenting when we were discussing this, that she had just heard on a podcast saying how super expensive it is to stay in the Orlando area. Might have something to do with this decision? If the families have just as good of a time at a much lower cost, this might be a permanent move. Marie

Well I have a pretty good idea about how this will impact hotel occupancy for Disney... And it's not good.

Disney will likely be begging to get them back next year as it's a HUGE revenue source for them.

I cant disagree. Even when the event was held offsite but still in the Orlando area, I'm sure this drove attendance for the resorts and parks as families were already in the area so I would imagine many thought let's tack on a trip after the Pop Warner events. Now with it being so far away, it is going to be interesting to see how this shakes out! Marie

Beginning of December is usually slow, I would assume someone balked at the pricing Disney threw at them.

Just more short sightedness from Disney. With all the ancillary business the tween girls (core demo apparently) throw at Disney World, you'd imagine they'd give them anything they want.

Oh well.

Doubt it.

Might make Disney $$$ but complaints rapidly increase and guest satisfaction scores plummet as a result of noisy misbehaving teenagers running riot all over the place causing people not to stay on Disney property so without them people will be willing to come back to the values knowing there won't be swarms of teenagers making their stay hell.

I don't know why Disney didn't build a value ESPN themed resort at the Wide World of Sports complex for this kind of thing.

Nothing like going to Charlotte in December…

The cheerleaders will be indoor I am guessing, but Pop Warner is probably outside?
Even it it does not snow, it may get cold I suspect?

WDW could not make them an offer they could not refuse???

What's that sound in WDW?

There is no sound, because Pop Warner-Youth Football and the Cheer & Dance Nationals, ARE GONE!

Good for the rest of us I guess?

Not to mention there is not much to do in Charlotte in December for families that’s unique. Carrowinds has winterfest, maybe the Panthers are in town and…
There just isn’t much to do in Charlotte period. I love touring America and I’ve been in the area many times, but there just… ain’t much. It had a promising looking new museum, the Museum of the New South, but COVID killed it and they sold to a condo developer. If you’re into NASCAR the museum is there, so that’s something…

There is Winterfest at Carowinds every weekend starting end of November

Even though this is true, they clearly felt for whatever reasons that Charlotte was a better fit than Disney.

Usually things like this come down to financial considerations.

We just attended a national tournament in central/eastern Ohio. Nothing to do nearby, and our calendars were quite full on the days we were competing. Not sure there’s a lot of down time (or frankly, desire) for families attending these sorts of things to do much else beyond the events they’re there for. Everyone got out as soon as things were over. Most kids will still be in school, and approaching finals, so that’s a lot to extend these trips unnecessarily.

I dont have any insight into the scheduling but I do have friends who do the cheerleading thing with the kids. It is a very time consuming thing and I am not sure that they participants would have much time outside of the events to do much else. I would imagine that they would have some social activities within the events but I think it was also a financial decision. Marie

I also don’t know how good of a deal the “discounted” tickets are anymore. I’ve seen some events people I knew were invited to and it’s still like $75 to enter the park after 4, or around $100 after 1pm.

All that said, I feel like they left WDW for Universal a few years ago, and are now leaving Orlando altogether. I also think their HQs is in that area of NC, FWIW?

Definitely still a lot cheaper than full price/full day tickets

We got After 1pm tickets when staying for Destination D23 for Epcot and it was $83.35/ticket

But not "cheap"
