DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I'm worried that this has opened the floodgates to build more attractions based on IPs that don't fit in Animal Kingdom. The suggestions of putting Moana in the park are bad enough, but the other day I saw somebody on Instagram, for example, suggest replacing Rafiki's Planet Watch with an Elemental attraction. Do we even SEE any animals in Elemental?

Those gates were opened long ago for all the parks.

Found a preview of the Encanto attraction...

Honestly not bad. With more elaborate sets this looks like it could fit Theater in the Wild. Though probably would be acrobatics, ballet and dancing as opposed to ice skating. It solidifies my belief that Disney CAN give us a good replacement should they ever sushi Nemo. Though I still say New Groove is the best candidate.

One of the better ON ICE productions however.

I can see it for anywhere BUT Animal Kingdom so yeah, naturally it's the perfect location.

It's probably someone like me who is obsessed with getting actual dragons into the park in some way. I wouldn't go that far...I just want them to build Beastly Kingdom in the expansion pad that remains.

Honestly if Moana were done in the right way including a reef and animal attractions it would have been a lovely fit for the park...Moana also has a theme of caring for the oceans, not robbing from the earth... Harmony and exploration... All things that are a great fit for Animal Kingdom... It actually is a better fit than Pandora which is not even based on this planet...

But Moana isn't about animals, and I highly doubt that any hypothetical Moana attraction would have Moana and Maui talking about animals and the environment.

Isn’t Animal Kingdom about much more than just animals? Isn’t it at the core about earth, nature, conservation. The intrinsic value of nature.

Animal Kingdom could really allude to and be showcasing so many things about our planet.

For me, Animal Kingdom is about… life. Our living planet.

Per Joe Rohde, the guiding principles of Animal Kingdom are:
- the intrinsic value of nature
- transformation through adventure
- a personal call to action

Lots of things that aren't explicitly about animals can fit into that - Moana could fit if focus is connection to water and a personal call to action to treat our oceans better, etc. Story definitely fits the "transformation through adventure" part

(Not saying the IP itself is a perfect fit but not hard to create something that would tie into those principles)

Pandora isn't about animals on our planet either...but fictional animals on another planet in another solar system.... If that fits, then so does just about anything... A girl that saves the oceans by restoring the heart that was stolen from the spirit of nature herself sounds very much like an Animal Kingdom type story.... Conservation, restoring the balance and harmony of nature...Sea creatures are animals too... Crabs, Fish Rays....
