Are people really trying to revive the lie that Disney is anti-American? Especially because they're angry about RoA?

Please.

No. I'm saying bad optics for a company known for its Americana image, esoecially during a year long celebration of the US 250th anniversary. Good luck with that Disney.

I think you have two different camps here ~ one who are fans of the ROA and are sad about it going away. Then, you have another group of people who aren't fans, just bigmouths, who have certainly jumped on the "Disney is WOKE!!!!" bandwagon, and they are the ones running with the 'anti-America' crap.

I'm in both. I'm a fan and can acknowledge that Disney has made quite a few missteps in the past several years which were noticed by the media.

Somebody was smart enough to put patriotic bunting on The Liberty Belle while she takes her last few trips along The Rivers of America.
Yes and she looks great! :)

I think the majority are sad that Disney has made these decisions. I talked to so many CM’s all around the property who were sad to see muppets go…. I mean even Disney actors like Josh Gad and Andrew Barth Feldman made public posts about muppets!

Closing fan-favorites that have stood the test of time is a very bold and risky move.

So today is Independence Day. There will be a year long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the US culminating one year from today. Just waiting for the media stories on Disney tearing out The Rivers of America and The Liberty Belle as we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US. Really bad optics for a company that used to be known for Americana and family. Good luck with that Disney.
I think this is a terrible decision but Disney seems to be inured to bad press and immune to shame at this point. I think it’ll be barely a blip and make no difference in the end.

and of course, we are going to have 5-6 years of construction walls and mess coming up..... There is no way they can scrape that land and then rebuild it in 3 years.... not at their current construction rate... and then Villains land after that....At least the Villains land plot is behind everything and won't be noticeable as much until it opens in 2032-3

All of Avatar was built from scraping to finish in 3 1/2 years.

Cars Piston Peaks and Villain Land were part of the D23 claim of shovel-ready and done by at least 5 years from the announcement. Stop trying to sneak in 5-6 years from now (which would be 6-7 years from announcement).

Permits are approved. Lay down yards are in full progress. RoA is going away this week. It's in the works.

Also, they aren't completing Cars and then start to work on Villains Land. They are being built at the same time.

All of this has been made known in the threads you frequent.

Stop making stuff up.
