Its not the first time they've drained the rivers either. Why would they use a crane to remove her when all they have to do is tow her to the boat dock.
I know it’s not the first time they’ve drained the rivers. And I’m not suggesting they’re going to use a crane to move the boat.

But I’m saying if they were planning on moving the boat out through the canal to SSL, they wouldn’t have already set up the dam to start draining the rivers.

Why would they put the dam there now if they know they’d need to immediately remove it to tow the boat out before they start draining it?

So my assumption is they’re not planning on towing the boat out, and they’re probably just going to dismantle it in place.

So today is Independence Day. There will be a year long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the US culminating one year from today. Just waiting for the media stories on Disney tearing out The Rivers of America and The Liberty Belle as we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US. Really bad optics for a company that used to be known for Americana and family. Good luck with that Disney.

Spitballing here. Normal procedure. Temp dam put in place in canal. Liberty Belle is on a track. Track is switched to lead her out of canal. Gate opened between canal and Rivers. Water floods in from River. Belle led out into canal. Gate closed. She is moved into a mount. Water drained. She is unconnected from track. Blue dam removed. Water floods in from canal. Belle moves out of mount. She is floating on her own. Tug attached. She is towed out.

Are people really trying to revive the lie that Disney is anti-American? Especially because they're angry about RoA?

Please.

No. I'm saying bad optics for a company known for its Americana image, esoecially during a year long celebration of the US 250th anniversary. Good luck with that Disney.

I think you have two different camps here ~ one who are fans of the ROA and are sad about it going away. Then, you have another group of people who aren't fans, just bigmouths, who have certainly jumped on the "Disney is WOKE!!!!" bandwagon, and they are the ones running with the 'anti-America' crap.

I'm in both. I'm a fan and can acknowledge that Disney has made quite a few missteps in the past several years which were noticed by the media.

Somebody was smart enough to put patriotic bunting on The Liberty Belle while she takes her last few trips along The Rivers of America.
Yes and she looks great! :)

I think the majority are sad that Disney has made these decisions. I talked to so many CM’s all around the property who were sad to see muppets go…. I mean even Disney actors like Josh Gad and Andrew Barth Feldman made public posts about muppets!

Closing fan-favorites that have stood the test of time is a very bold and risky move.

I think this is a terrible decision but Disney seems to be inured to bad press and immune to shame at this point. I think it’ll be barely a blip and make no difference in the end.
