Given that its releasing in theaters first, I doubt that.

In general separate from any SW show, Bluey on D+ tends to kick the s**t out of movies, especially movies previously released in theaters. And I don't see that changing in the next 2 years, especially since a Bluey movie will be released around the same time.

So my bet is that the Bluey movie will get more views than Spaceballs 2 when both land on their respective services.

So you suggesting that Space Balls 2 will do better in streaming numbers than the monster earner that is Bluey? I wouldn’t take that bet as Bluey is a huge juggernaut of a franchise, streaming like a gazillion minutes or some ridiculous number in total at this point since its debut. It is the most watched show on D+ by far, being the number one streamed show on any platform in 2024.

I predict Spaceballs 2 will have higher views for Amazon than ANY Disney+ Star Wars show including Andor.

Comedy, being more accessible and appealing to a larger audience, generally does better, especially compared to a drama like Andor. They are completely different things.

I absolutely adore Andor. I don’t really care for Star Wars. Kids love Star Wars. Kids love Spaceballs. That alone makes this more likely to get more eyes.

That doesn’t take away from how much time, care, and skill went into Andor, a show that in no way was meant for families with kids to watch together.

They can both be good.

before seeing either movie… that is not such a outrageous take….when looking at Disney recent live action movies at the time… anyone who says they knew that Barbie would become the academy award nominee juggernaut it became is not being honest with themselves

Also Bluey pulling in higher streams then Spaceballs is not a wild take either….nothing Touches Bluey these days.,,, and I am someone who is a childless gen Xer who has never seen an episode…. As well as growing up watching Mel Brooks movies…Bluey is appointment viewing if you have kids…. Spaceballs is more niche then people think…. Will young people even care

I’m not making a claim one way or the other, but as you haven’t polled the whole planet you can’t make such a claim.

Also I think you may have missed the point that the other poster I believe was trying to make. The humor in Space Balls is teen humor, you have a main character named Barf after all and a character made of Pizza. So whether they have seen the original movie or not the humor will translate and transcend those 40 years, especially if those are teens who’s parents grew up with the original movie.
