Does anyone think the Abu Dhabi park will make OLC do something big to compete or will they see it as something outside their market and ignore it? It will be interesting to see if two franchises create FOMO

Between one big project and another big project they might do another big project

No correlation to Abu Dhabi though

I imagine OLC will care what Abu Dhabi does about as much as they care what Paris or the US parks do, i.e., very little most of the time.

OLC cares more about its investors if were being honest. They are aware and thats just it.

Does anyone know what work is coming to the Disney Sea Entrance? The happy entry will now be 5-15 minutes, and it says that construction is through March 2029!?

What are they doing?

Probably fully redoing the entrance turnstiles and plaza, much in the way they redid the TDL turnstiles a few years ago.

Fair warning, if that is what is, it really throttles park entry and security.

Not sure why that would take four whole years though.

The TDL entrance renovation only took 2 years for comparison (one year per side).

Indiana Jones is also closing for refurbishment next month but has no set re-opening date at the moment. Could just be routine maintenance or something a little more extensive.

A couple months back there was a full year refurb posted on the calendar which was taken down after only a day or two. This could be that one.

PotC and Sinbad also went through very lengthy refurbs recently, I believe it was mainly earthquake reinforcement work.

I understand that, but I have no other explanation for why they would be posting such an announcement.

Nor, as of now, does seemingly anyone else.

This Reddit thread has some thoughts:

Sounds like some think because the Disney Sea entry experience is already so abysmal, they will do this work very slowly and deliberately to avoid impacting entry as little as possible. Also it has two hotels with special entrances, so they will likely try to only impact one hotel at a time, if both sides gates are being redone. (Not sure if FSH needs updated gates already??)

This renovation is just for the main entrance. The FSH side already has the new automated gates.

I mean, I guess, but if they're going to do what they did for TDL-literally level and rebuild the gate from scratch-I don't see how it's going to be better to do it in small increments over four years.

OLC could also do what literally every other Disney park around the world does and let people into the park *gasp* before it officially opens if they're so concerned about entry being such an issue even under status quo conditions. They might even sell some merch and/or food and drink to help pay for itself. I know, I know, Happy 15, but no one forced the Tokyo parks to take on that system, that's entirely a problem of their own making.
