This is a direct result of Modern Monetary Theory or the Magic Money Tree. MMT is a belief the government can print money without consequence. Unchecked printing of money leads to inflation, or conversely, decreases the purchasing power of a dollar. Decreased purchasing power results in more dollars needed to purchase the same item. We all wanted bailouts during Covid, the result is increased prices.
And some of us never received a penny of that Covid funny money while others soaked up thousands. But we get to deal with the consequences nonetheless.

We have done bailouts before without anything like the increased prices we saw so that is only part of the story.

I literally sat in a meeting where a group of C-suit folks from different companies talked about how Covid and the supply shortage gave them cover to jack prices and how they could potentially squeeze out more going forward.

Yes, the ability to increase prices and maintain prices was precisely due to the increased money supply.

Either way, the same good take more dollars. That is inflation.

If you are not reporting record earnings during a inflationary cycle, you need to revisit your business plan

The way we trimmed our eating expenses at the parks is taking advantage of the all u can eat hot breakfast at the nearby non Disney hotels. For lunch in the park is a light meal if even that and our bigger meal is dinner in park or somewhere else. We hydrate throughout the day drinking so much water ( for free ) ask a CM for ice water or line up with other guests at the water filling station with your water bottle. During the hot humid months we don’t eat a lot during the day but we hydrate frequently to avoid heat exhaustion. With Disney being more expensive year after year instead of crying about it we find ways to do something about it.

Wow. Saturday on a holiday weekend, most schools are out for the summer, and nothing longer than 55 mins (and GOTG is closed?)

Surely they are not at Epic Universe . The Midway Maybem blogger advised that lines to rides opening day a few days ago were 15 min or less and less guests than the preview days.

This is fine but completely your choice to make. Personally if I’m going to spend thousands on a vacation, I don’t want to pinch pennies just to make it work. If it were the only option, maybe, but there are plenty of other options thankfully where I can still vacation how I want for less.

The ones who can enjoy for much less the WDW parks are the CMs who take full advantage of company perks !

Don’t fall for the wait times on the upsell app

It’s not about that

It’s about a general lack of foot traffic

I don't think there is a right or wrong here. It's all about personal preference. I agree with you that pinching pennies isn't the way to go. That only creates a level of stress that doesn't need to be there. Especially on vacation.

I stopped eating exclusively at the resort because quite frankly, there became better options.

To each his own. For ones who seek and achieve to higher incomes it requires different mindset and sacrifice foreign words to some to take those chances and risks. As Dave Ramsey put it - 75% of luxury goods buyers are middle class. Their decision making will keep them in the middle class.
