Someone mentioned the weather earlier and described “dry heat”. Abu Dhabi is coastal and therefore actually is rather muggy in the summer. Dew points can easily hit 70 degreees. Combined with high temperatures around 110, you’ll certainly be sweating in July. No rain to cool you.

Now we know why Halfway to Halloween was pushed back.

I surely hope Disney doesn't think this is the announcement that will overshadow Epic Universe opening.

I'm not sure on that. In recent years it has certainly become more popular, one only has to look at the daily flights from across the UK to the UAE, and it isn't just for connections to the far east and Australia.

There's certainly a large enough number of Scots travellers anyway. Emirates paid for a new lounge and gate area extension and other infrastructure ahead of the A380 at Glasgow. They operated twice daily pre-pandemic and now operate from Edinburgh, along with Qatar twice daily to Doha.

There's also a lot it seems from various message boards who previously went on holiday to the states going roughly the same distance east, and enjoying the opulent accommodation and lifestyle on offer - and finding it better value for money.

A good friend of mine, their family previously always visited the states for their yearly holiday. Last year they went to Doha and this year are off to Dubai.

Can I ask, where specifically on Yas Island is it going to be built on? From what I can tell, I think it could be at "Beach in Yas" in the image I posted, but I wonder if they're going to expand the Island to accommodate for the space and infrastructure for it. But either way, Bioshock Reconstruction if you're reading this, I hope you have your drones ready lol

I think Abu Dhabi Disneyland sounds better than Disneyland Abu Dhabi myself. Disneyland Arabia would probably be more acceptable than Euro Disney was. In Europe, Euro has a lot of political meaning s but Arabia is basically part of the name of the UAE

I agree. When it comes to the naming convention I prefer for it to be specific. I prefer Disneyland Abu Dhabi or UAE Disneyland to Disneyland Arabia. Disneyland Dubai would have sounded better but it’s not in Dubai. Still think it’s interesting to go with Emirati over Arabian in the context of what Bob said.

That is the likely location. For those unfamiliar, this location is only about 2 miles (by way the crow flies) from Yas Mall which, in itself, is an incredible attraction, but it's also the same complex as Ferrari World (home of Formula Rosa, the [current] fastest roller coaster in the world), Sea World, and Warner Bros World. All three attractions are world class (though the quality of some of the dark rides can be questionable). All three are also 90% indoors. It will be interesting to see how far Disney leans on keeping everything indoors.

To not be the lowest attended Disney park in the world, it will need to triple the number of guests that the neighboring parks are used to getting.

I don't know that Disney really cares if it's the lowest attended in the world since they're not financially responsible for it

Perhaps down the road the new Disney Abu Dhabi park and resort will be under control and management by its local residents like Tokyo Disney run by Oriental Land Co ? I wonder if pork products will be on the menu in Abu Dhabi ?

I wonder about the staffing. Almost everything I went to in Qatar, Dubai and Kuwait was staffed by TCNs (third country nationals) grateful for a steady salary, but the majority are treated not very well.

I can't speak for all UAE parks, but I've seen videos of the Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes dark rides they have at Warner Bros. World and they look pretty neat.
