Not to veer this into a Splash stateside discussion, but a few Park Blog articles about Splash have been restored, such as the one below:
They had all been purged in 2021/22 before. This makes me wonder if Disney is easing up on the Br'ers/Splash being mentioned, even with Splash being gone in the Usa. Maybe Br'er Rabbit in the parks?

I don't think this is anything to look into. The whole parks blog was purged when it was last redesigned, and it looks like a bunch of old content is being restored. Wouldn't surprise me if this was a batch process and the Splash stuff was simply an oversight.

I do see none of the posts for the cancelled EPCOT projects were restored though, so that definitely says they've been picking and choosing.

That's a fun take. I like it!
I've always been team Bear for a Splash retheme. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE loves those guys. At least in Tokyo and Florida.

I'm relatively fine with DLR getting Tiana. That layout was made with DLR in mind, and the layout (not mechanically as what's been seen!) works alright. It doesn't reach the highs Splash had, but it's fine for DLR. Aggressively fine.

Porting it to Florida and trying to port it to Tokyo is just cheap. If Splash had to go, I would've rathered all three be turned into things unique to their locations.

“When” it happens, it will be because the building is compromised and needs to be completely torn down. Maybe 2065? Until then, OLC has no interest in changing it, and Disney has (finally) realized it’s a futile effort. By 2035, Iger will be long gone. Nobody will be pushing for it 10 years after they stopped. If they touch another classic along the lines of Space Mountain, it will either be Jungle Cruise or Haunted Mansion. Something that’s actually getting up there in age. Not one of the most modern and technically advanced rides at the park.
I too have an uncle that works for WDI

Splash Mountain has gotten another decade or so to its life at Tokyo if they're focusing on Adventureland for their next round. God bless you crazy folks.
TBA was a spontaneous announcement though, I’d welcome splash to be around longer but nothing is really predictable still.

Let me tell you this knowing how OLC announcements work, I wouldn’t be relieved yet. It has been proven multiple times. They change projects depending on that time.

So who knows maybe we just saw a glimpse adventureland but they didn’t say its all confirmed and finalized.
They’re not that dumb if they’re emptying the old OLC offices behind ROA for nothing those balloon tests that happened multiple times through the years . and clearing the back stage of pirates.

Time is the ultimate truth teller.
But then again alot can change in 10 years 😉.

I'll be happy just as long as it makes it through this summer! My first trip to anything Disney was summer 2023 to DL and I missed it closing by 3 weeks :/ I'm going to TDL this summer and Splash is top of my list and the reason I'm purchasing the unlimited rides vacation package! It's the one ride I've known about since a little kid and is the one thing I really really want to get to experience at least 1x!

I did get to ride TBA my last WDW trip and it's a great ride, but I grew up in the prime age to catch all of the tv advertising and videos for Splash when it was new, and for me, that is how I visualized the Disney parks for years.

Splash has a temporary overlay in summer to get you soaked more than usual so it absolutely will be open

I know you really want it to change for some reason, but it’s not happening anytime soon. OLC would rather get rid of the Jungle Cruise than one of their top 3 most popular rides. I know it may be shocking to some purists, but it’s really not when you compare the quality and popularity of Critter Country to the older areas in the park.

They were pitched a Cars replacement for the Rivers of America. They didn’t like it. They were pitched several replacements for Splash Mountain. They didn’t like any of them. Now it’s possible that we see a new expansion north of Rivers, but I can almost guarantee it will be independent of Splash.

The balloon tests were in this highlighted area. I don’t see any reason why there would need to be an impact to Splash or Critter Country. Not to mention, the first time these balloon tests were done was all the way back in 2018 (two years before they hastily came up with and approved the American rethemes).

You know what I will take the L and agree with your statement. but still begs the question though
Why are there 2 different concept arts between the english press release and Japanese press release.

With ongoing demolition of backstage areas.

I wonder what the non-Tiana replacement pitches were. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was a clone of the Lion King flume ride that Paris is getting.
I don’t know for sure, but I’ve heard Zootopia, Duffy, and Chip & Dale all floated around at one point. Would not be shocked if Lion King started as a pitch for this retheme, but that’s just speculation. Not sure which one they were working on floor plans for last year. Whatever it was, OLC wasn’t sold on it.

There’s a second piece of concept art for the Adventureland overhaul?

So Adventureland becomes Pixar Adventureland with an Incredibles and an Up ride. I don’t hate the concept for an expansion plot. I’ve long arm chair imagineered a South America themed version of Fantasy Springs (before Tropical Americas was announced) that consisted of Saludos Amigos, Encanto and Don’t love it in Adventureland though. I suppose at this point I don’t care though as long as they don’t destroy the classics at Disneyland. With that said it would have been nice to see all the different takes on these classic attractions before they went away as I do plan on visiting all the parks around the world… one sweet day.
