What you quoted was me talking about the audience, audiences 15-20 years ago didn’t think twice about a budget, most didn’t even know what the budget was for a film, heck most still don’t today.
Budget was talked about when it was a story. I remember budget was talked about a ton with Titanic. Also pirates dead mans chest got a good amount of budget talk as well as John carter. I think the difference is, most films weren't coming out with massive budgets then so it was more of an outlier. Now, so many films come out at 170 to 250 mil budget. It's to the point where we see A $150mil budget and say, wow a reasonable budget! Lol

I'm so happy that you didn't use your lightsaber on him.

People are different. If he's basing it on modern Star Wars though I understand. I've only liked Mandalorian's first 2 seasons. I'm a harsh critic though, I don't even like the prequel trilogy.
I actually prefer the older Star Wars movies, 4, 5, and 6 personally. I did also enjoy Rogue One. I tried to get into the Mandalorian, but honestly it really wasn't my cup of tea to be honest. I heard they're in the process of making another one. Different strokes, different folks! If I'm not mistaken, I did hear an interview somewhere with Seth Rogan when he was on the set of the Fablemans. Sorry, it was not about Star Wars but movie filming in general. I believe Spielberg had relayed to him that he used an Iphone previously for a music video he had filmed called Cannibal.

I don’t know how much it actually bled into the public consciousness back then though. Sure it was talked about in terms of a “news” story, but it wasn’t something that I bet the average movie goer even knew about, which was the point I was trying to make.

Anyways let’s not put the cart before the horse here. We don’t know the budget for this movie yet, so all this is premature.

The budget was only discussed back then when the film had one of the largest production budgets ever such as Waterworld or Titanic…. The average filmgoer only cared about if they thought the film was good or not…. Simpler times

It all has to do with the non-traditional entertainment companies not having a budget for anything.

Yeah, it's like the people that go to Disney parks a lot. They've gotten used to high prices. So when they look around the stores and see a cup for 30 bucks, they go "Whoa, what a bargain!"

I've heard that Rey, Daisy Ridley, is confirmed to be in the movie as well! I'm also really looking forward to A Simple Favor 2 on streaming soon. I saw that commercial for it the other day on TV. The first one was such a great movie! By the way, the new Star Wars movie is titled Star Wars Episode X: New Jedi Order!

J.J. Abrams deserves most of the blame for the sequels though. He was doing a good job remaking the Star Wars Trilogy with a girl. But then he handed it over to a complete moron, who wanted to do his own thing.

It's like J.J. was putting a puzzle together and left the room and his idiot little brother came in and messed it all up. Sure the puzzle was a just regurgitation of an old one, we've seen a better version of. But it had to be nicer looking than playdoh and puzzle pieces being jammed into an easy bake oven.

I actually loved Rey as a character, at first, until they sequels and the characters got all over the place.

Maybe Starkiller can do some repair work to a character that started out awesomely.

I agree, I actually liked the Force Awakens when it came out. But the sequels somehow seemed to ruin even that one, at least for me.

I was hoping that she ended up with Po. But for some odd, strange reason they didn't meet right away. And furthermore didn't have many scenes together.

I think most did. Sure it was in essence a soft reboot but most said, okay I'll see where this goes. Then 8 and 9 came and wet the bed. After that I find it hard to care about TFA.

I would guess that's because Poe was supposed to die in the tie fighter crash at the beginning. So they just wrote him back in at the end.
