MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I don't know why anyone thinks Disney wants an excuse to cancel the demolition of ROA. Disney wants to demolish the ROA, it's that simple.
Disney absolutely does not want an excuse to cancel, they WANT to destroy RoA!

Many, including me, want them to cancel, hoping the current environment would force them to cancel it.

Even if it takes them 5 to 7 years to complete it, I think they will do it, because THEY WANT to do it!

All your memes you tend to share, can you share one of someone beating a dead horse?

EDIT - might be more appropiate meme for you.
"Alternatives to "beating a dead horse" include phrases like "flogging a dead horse," "spinning your wheels," or "barking up the wrong tree."

Any of them will work.

Please stop posting the same comments. At this point it is just distracting from what should be a useful thread.

I think there are four camps of people:

1) They hate the eradication of RoA, TSI and the Riverboat
2) They hate the Cars IP being used at MK and specifically there
3) They hate both notions.
4) They are open to change

I'd put myself in #4, but with the caveat, they have to execute properly.

Like some have suggested, it sounds like Disney is committed to removing the Rivers for several reasons (costs to maintain #1)

They can't exactly put massive showbuildings in this space. For the record, Cars wouldn't be my first IP either. I don't know what they could have used.

I'm trying to remain open minded to wait to see the end results. If they can pull off the aesthetics and good attractions that draw more guests than TSI/Riverboat, it can be a net win.

They have to avoid a huge swing and miss. They can't screw this up. Nobody will forgive them for destroying RoA if it's not worth it.

These categories make sense. I'm in #1, as are many. I'd really like to be in #4, but I know what's to come will be an aesthetic atrocity.

If I had a dime for every time we've said, "they can't screw this up... nobody will forgive them..."

SW:GE, GotG:CR, TBA? They screwed it up; we forgave them.

What I don’t get is why here but not at DL. If it’s supposedly a nightmare to maintain and not a LL revenue machine here, it should be in the bullseye in Cali as well. Why does MK and by extension WDW always seem to get shafted whenever it comes to reskins > actual new attractions, thematic cohesion, and so on? WDW should be the pinnacle of the Disney mountain

I'd maybe add a 5th option.

5) They hate the idea when there's open spots that could be used first.

I'd put myself in that option.

Respect the perspective, but disagree with your list.

Epcot spine - I can get behind that

I’m in this camp.

Also people need to stop using the Epcot spine as an excuse to hate on this project. That happened during Covid under different leadership.

They absolutely need to have show buildings for the major E ticket at least.

Funny how DLP gets mentioned several times on this thread because it’s gotten a little investment the last 5-7 years.

It was literally neglected for decades and bleeding money which was the complete opposite situation of WDW.

I can only hope for the best outcome for this “Frontierland” expansion. Disney needs to hit it out of the park or else.
